That was... horrible. No offence to the admins.
Thanks for trying to set up this great league. Seemed like it would be great fun but it was pretty bad.
Rules should have been enforced a lot more. The chatting in qualifying was rediculous and in the race too. During the race is not the time to talk about graphic cards and start a discussion.
I was satisfied with my qualifying time and saw that I would probably lose connection at one point during the race. Specially with that many people in the server. So, race starts, first few laps went very well. Then Mr Niko Puntulo with a weird move on my inside with going low throwing my into the wall? When you make a move on the inside there you generally go a bit lower so that we both have space to take a good enough line. Not stick to the upper line and let me hit the wall.
Then I get back in, to watch a bit, and I see so many people who should have been black flagged but yet were still on the track and they were a GREAT danger to others. One of the leaders nearly got took out by one and I will not say the name but I think you, admins, should know who that person is.
Overall, crap race. Admins, please enforce the rules and perhaps kick or ban or suspend people from the race if needed. Talking during qual should be warning once, kick second, suspended from race third. Dangerously driving and almost taking out a leader should be an automatic kick or suspension from the race. Perhaps a black flag with a little note telling the person that they should be carefull or they would be taken out of the race.
And finally, comes the server crashing. I really wasn't surprised because of the ammount of people who were in the server at the time.
So, no offence intended admins. I'm glad you guys have come up with this great idea for a league but please enforce the rules and make sure it's fun instead of it being chaos. As for the server, well that can't really be your fault. It could have happened to anyone.

Unfortunatley I will be withdrawing from the series If multiple people do not recieve penaltys after the race. As no one has recieved one so far..

I was enlightening the admins on why scania would be sleepy...
and all this was under caution...and i thought we discussed this in practice that caution chat was okay if limited...
I have discussed this with a friend and I have decided that I will be limiting my chatting to anything directed directly towards me...or leaving pits etc.

I understand your thoughts, but to be honest it was one of the hardest jobs I've ever had to do. It doesn't help when half the field are trying to make the rules for themselves, and it's even harder to keep track of lapped cars, chatting, wrecks, safety car instructions and the like. I believe the series organisers (I was just drafted in as an admin at the last minute) will be looking at the replay and doing whatever they feel necessary.
I apologise on behalf of the management for any inconvenience caused by our inexperience. We have learned a lot of lessons from this race, and it can only get better, I can assure you.
PS mistatea I have also read your post, and we will take on board your criticisms. I'm sure there will be a thorough post-race analysis of what to change for next time.

I can understand how hard it must have been. But there were certain people that should have been kicked for chatting. Once one or two people get penaltys for chatting everyone would stop..(I would hope)
I suppose It can only get better from here. But If you want a Serious league You have to Give people serious penaltys.

The chat during qualifying and during the race was just downright disrespectful. If you can't follow the rules set out then why are you participating? Same goes for the admins... i mean no disrespect, but why tell people to 'Shut Up' then continue talking about something unrelated yourselves...?
All in all.. the race was ok.. it wasn't great... but i'm mainly blaming that on the server crash, which really isn't anyone's fault.
If you are trying to portray a professional 'image' for this league... that really went out the window this race, sorry to say. As far as my future in this league is concerned... if I don't see some more proactive administration of the event and servers taking place.... I won't be continuing... over 45 mins of time was wasted due to useless BS.
Btw, Gratz on the win DWB :)

Well, easily as bad on the administration front as the KY250. Seems like nothing was learned.
Not that administrating is easy with a field like we had today.
Problems:
1. Chatting. As has been mentioned, this is inexcusable. It was explicitly stated pre-race that chatting would result in a DT, but not a single one was given. There should be no chat, not even during SC periods, and not even from admins unless absolutely necessary.
2. SC driver not maintaining SC pace. This leads to all kinds of trouble back in the field, as we saw.
3. Questionable SC periods. I have no idea what that last one was for, really.
4. Quality of the field. There were several drivers who had no business being out there.
5. Quality of the server. No explanation needed.
That said, great race with the frontrunners. Thanks to Sarge & my teammates for the drafting help and courteous driving.
Let's hope things get better.

I agree with everything that's been said before. Due to my bad fortune and getting involved in almost every incident, I thought the pace car wasn't keeping a steady lap since all I was during caution was accelerate, brake, brace for impact, accelerate, brake, brace for impact.
Do we really have a lot of kids here? It seems most people go a la Clarkson "POWAAAAAAAA" and don't even know they have a middle pedal called the brake. I was slowing down for mishaps in front of me and people at the back thought they could fly through the wrecks. And like I said earlier, even during caution I was getting hammered from the rear.
Server crash. It happens. You guys seem to spring quickly into action unfortunately there were some people that thought they were admins on this server. The admins should also NOT use the race to chat and instead use something like TS or Vent.
Also, do any of the kids know what it means to shut up? Or do they know how to read? Asking for setups on raceday? Automatic kick/ban for that day to the server. Eventually that happened but it should have happened right at the beginning.
I would love to participate in this league because it is on the weekends. I usually drive in LOTA but because of my shift work, I miss 2/3rds of the races. I want you guys to succeed but please enforce the rules. There should be a boatload of chatting penalties this time around.
As a request, can someone post the replays?

This time, the safety car driver had a mouse, but next time there will be a safety car driver with pedals and a wheel, for smoothness.
As for chatting penalties, that will be discussed (excuse the pun) between the organisers and I'm sure a satisfactory decision will be met.
As for admin chatter, most of it was in vent but some slipped through vent and had to be text spoken. There was A LOT going on in the vent channel, believe me!

Thanks for explaining. Speed limit was 80 mph. Even with mouse could you guys not have it geared where it would top out at 80? Just wondering.
Anyways, I lost power 5 minutes after I logged out of the server. Since my APC connects to an ungrounded socket, it looks like it took the whole hit of whatever lightning bolt hit our electrical segment.

In a list, are the negative thoughts
1. POOR server, which you know already, please find a better 1.. simple
2.The staff that was in charge just wanted me to hit alt+f4.. the rules and how it ran was just really a shame.
3. There where MANY ppl that where suppose to get DT, and it seemed they let it go. Shame..
4.And some times i thought the safety car wasn't coming.....
Might be rough. But it's slim to what im feeling.

Qualifying
Times were decent, got to watch who would be the people to look out for (meaning slow/dangerous cars). The best thing happened during this time and it was that you told arox to leave because he was a threat to others. But even in qualifying there should be NO CHAT period. Admins I thought were on ts/vent, and they still decided to talk. To me, if someone talks during qualifying they should have to start in the back.
Race
The rolling start actually worked well in the beginning, surprisingly. Once the race started everything seemed to be fine, then a caution flew and here came the chatter. Each person that spoke should of got a DT instantly, but you guys just said shhh.. Anyways, people seemed to behave pretty well on track and the race went on fine until the server crash. Then we came back and started back up, and everyone pit as we were going green since it was the beginning of the pit window (I myself was laughing after this). But then we were green for a while and people were spread out. Then we had a caution, then another, and then finally we had a green white checkered. Little racing incident at the end that completed a long and disappointing race.
Overall the chatter and lack of force by the admins pretty much ruined the race. This is an easy fix and hopefully it is fixed by next round. I could add more but I am going to try to not look back on this race.

When I type it's sitting in a chair, not going 150mph. It is simple if you have a group of drivers that are respectful, I see the problem you can have there since a little of the field were not. But still, actually following up on the rules by giving out the penalties is not that hard.

I have a specific person in mind who totally disregarded the rules more than once.
Also the Admins couldn't see my question about my placing under one caution because of all the FU^%ING chat:really::really:

Not that administrating is easy with a field like we had today.
Unfortunately half of the admins decided to leave so the team you saw today were a last minute replacement who are admiring a race for the first time.
Every 5 minutes I had to explain the rules and they did their best so while it's not the best admining they did do the best they could.
1. Chatting. As has been mentioned, this is inexcusable. It was explicitly stated pre-race that chatting would result in a DT, but not a single one was given. There should be no chat, not even during SC periods, and not even from admins unless absolutely necessary.
I'll be more strict on this next race. As for now, the post race penalties included excessive chat in which a few will be punished.
2. SC driver not maintaining SC pace. This leads to all kinds of trouble back in the field, as we saw.
This was my fault and i personally apologize for this. I had to keep spectating back in the field WHILE driving the pace car to sort out a few position disputes and I also had to help the admins on a few issues so my attention was not specifically on the pace car.
3. Questionable SC periods. I have no idea what that last one was for, really.
This I disagree. That last caution was for an large pile up involving Safenice, Ken, schawo, nightfly and Martelle. All the time the pace car was out was because of a crash (except when the server went down)
4. Quality of the field. There were several drivers who had no business being out there.
There were some questionable driving, and the admin used the black flag to get them off the track
5. Quality of the server. No explanation needed.
This i admit and i apologize

There were some questionable driving, and the admin used the black flag to get them off the track
That I'm thankfull for but I still think that the intervention was made way too late. Some drivers should have been suspended from the race just from what they were like in qual. Yes one person was, but another wasn't and should have. Then in the race that same person did almost the whole race going around the track almost knocking out so many people. Then finally the black flag.
I'm glad you guys asked some people to spectate. I think some standards should have to be met before people can race in the future. For example being at least 4 seconds within the world record in BL1R or something like this to prevent people from simply getting to the server and driving the combo for the first time.
Hope it all get's better. You can expect me to be there next race hoping that all will go well this time.

I know for a fact I was a large portion (probably at least 1/4 or more) of the on-track chat. After trying to defend my actions it's not worth it, the point is during practice the wave of chat was uncomprehensible and I didn't like it.
So being a hypocrite I pretty much chatted my way through the race.
Thought I would make it a nice formal apology instead of a half-arsed one.

The chat during qualifying or racing is just disrespectful. Im sure you would expect others to be quiet for you when you're trying to put in a qualifying time or are racing in a pack on track, so you should show others that same courtesy. Not talking about random things that have no place for discussion during a race... like videos cards???? come on guys... Let's get it together and hope next race goes a lot smoother! :thumb:

Well:
Quali went much better after we decided to send out more that one person at a time. (BTW - sorry at Jambo for continually taking over your job :)). There is quite alot of chat that we admins need to do in the quali, so I think its best if you're on a hot lap, to block messages, then unblock again after you've finished.
The first race start was aborted, cos someone crashed IIRC. The second one was pretty good - I remember saying 'wow - this is good!'. However, there was a little incident at the back.
An issue that I think continually comes up in oval racing (KY250, this, KY500 practices) is that people think they know what they're doing, particularly under SC/caution, when in reality they don't at all. This is what causes some of the crashes that could be avoided.
Hard luck on the server crash - I really think you should get an American server as about 90% of competitors are American - then you'll get less lag.
BTW, thanks for the fun I had on vent :tilt:
There was lizard who was desperately trying to keep all us 6 admins under control, and 36 racers (and Ken ;)) under control too, and, for his first event, did a pretty good job IMO. Then there was poor Jambo, who had no idea what he was doing, but once we'd taught him he did a pretty good job too :) Then there's Brandon, who swears alot and can't wait for the next 'wreck' :D, Cobra (who sounds about 7 years old :D) who did 'sh*t' in quali and 'got wrecked' in the race. Then there's poor Michael who I think came into the server and vent a tad surprised at the mess that was happening.
Whenever there was a crash there was lizard going (american accent) wow - big wreck!, Brandon going (still American) oh sh*t there's another fu**ing wreck and Michael going (in quite a posh british accent) Oh no - a wreck! :)
Sorry for the OT btw :D

little extreme?:really: pffff
The chat during qualifying or racing is just disrespectful. Im sure you would expect others to be quiet for you when you're trying to put in a qualifying time or are racing in a pack on track, so you should show others that same courtesy. Not talking about random things that have no place for discussion during a race... like videos cards???? come on guys... Let's get it together and hope next race goes a lot smoother! :thumb:

Indeed, grats to DWB and PMD. Great race. Grats to the Guess Motorsports crew aswell.
And very nice race to you Niki. Really sucks about that last lap :P
Big thanks to Rising Phoenix for setup support!
Quali went well, not pole but 2nd is cool result too :)
Grats CoRe guys, really pro done. I pretty much didn't enjoy the race. CoRe guys were kinda "rude" enough to bumpdraft away.
That's the difference between LFSCAR and NASCAR. You have no teammate in NASCAR!
I had ugly slides in last corner after restarts and losing positions, but finally from 5th looks like i'm coming back to 3rd. Hey I'll get it, it's only risky move on this race by me, he must move, he's damn pro oval driver, but he doesn't and it ends up bad for me...
What to say, 3 hours of stupid stressful sitting, sweating and almost for nothing. I had once nice moment with one of guess drivers when I beat him for 3rd spot somewhere in first part of the race :p
At least I got excellent on todays final exam \o/
See ya on Blackwood.
EDIT: Critic to admins
How dear you extend race length? What if someone ended up with no fuel? I don't care if there is yellow flag finish or whatever... It's almost your fault for that crash.

This thread is funny.
It is said in the rules that chatting is forbidden and there are like 30+ lines of chat during the race. And the worst rule-breaker even says his penalty is too extreme when he only gets a DQ. :D

Ok, this is a common technique in NASCAR and it is known as a green, white, checkered. The rule is that if there's a crash a few laps before the checkered, then there would be a caution period and the race would be extended.
This is know as "overtime" in NASCAR.
The point of this is to have a clean finish without any crashes and or to not end the race under caution.
I do realize that this is dangerous for people might run out of fuel. But that's just part of stock car racing. In NASCAR there have been many who've run out of fuel and lost the race because of a GWC. You can either put in a little more fuel to be safe or you can cut it close and pray for no wrecks at the end of the race

I should have been more clear on that in the rules.

Yeah, the real problem is that it's not mentioned anywhere at all in the rules.
If I'd run out of fuel on it I would be raising hell.

Guys lets stop arguing about this, Race 1 is in the books already.
Just be mindful of your actions in race 2. No chat and be respectful of others

I don't know if this has been suggested yet, but for some people in Europe it was gonna end up a bit late(until I had to go) . But best of luck in the future with this, I'm tempted to come back for more next season! :)

hello,
It was a great race! Not for me for sure, because I managed to catch the last in-lap position, but never mind.
There was jsut something I didn't understand. Here it is:
When the first yellow came out, I was the one, who caused the accident (I am sorry if I ruined someone's race), and I almost had to retire. Luckily I got myselft back to four wheels, but my car had so much damage, that it was very hard to reach the pits with it. While i was recovering the safety car came out, and the pit sraight being closed. I had no choice, I had to repair my car. Than I got a drive through penalty, for "crossing the red light". Last year, when I was driving in the 360 deg. cup, the rule was more clear, and a big sign came out, when the SC was deployed: "Pitlane is closed, except for the wrecks". And nascar rules are the same. In F1 it's clear why this rule is: people can gain advantage in the first or second lap of the SC, but if I would had rocket boosters on my car, I still couldn't gain any advantage form this situarion, ... and this wasn't a Formula 1 race. I was asking the admins to clear my penalty, but there were no answer. So I still don't know what was the problem with my pitting as a wreck.
BTW, thanks lizard for the race, looking forward to BL1, hopefully I can get more out of a road course!:scratchch

Really? I thought you got a drive through because you sped accidentally.
Yes, pit road is closed except for those who are wrecked. I didn't pay attention to the argument u had in race 1.
But in a way you were compensated for it because you were allowed to regain a lap (even though you caused the accident).
I may have not been clear but just as a note to future reference.
When pit road is closed it is closed to everyone except those involved in the crash. Just as hariel said.
However, you are not suppose to get the lucky dog at all hariel mainly because you caused the wreck yourself. The rule of the lucky dog is that those who caused a wreck will not get the lucky dog. But you were allowed to go through
I apologize for the admin's inexperience.
