View Full Version : Are there any decent demo races?

I'm playing LFS for about 3-4 days, and didn't practice a lot. I've started playing some multiplayer races and I'm very disappointed by the low racing level of the racers. On every race, even if I spin out a lot, and not performing at my best, I either win or finish 2nd.
On the one hand, I'm sure that if I'll get an S2 license, the racers there would be much better and probably would beat me by more than one lap, but I'm still not sure if I want to buy a license and still want to try this game a bit.
So, basically the question:
Is it possible to find some decent demo racing?

Well, I was in the demo up till two days ago. I suggest going to Brazuka Racing, or the Clean Racing League servers. They have the kick and ban options and most people want to race fair. Unfortunately, it just depends on the time you get on. If you are looking for some rallyx (not my thing) try serbian hell racing.
The best option is saving up for S2 or nagging your parents about it (like I did!).

There are many decent players on the demo because it's easier to focus on 1 track, then it is on 7 tracks.
If you enjoy the demo but want to race against better drivers, all you got to do is get S2. :)

I'm 27 years old (and feel around here like I'm 80)... I think I've passed the age of nagging my parents for video games....

IF (i.e a big 'if') you can see past the negative aspects of racing on demo servers and, instead, can see the incredible potential this SIM has to offer then - trust me - there are servers within this community that will welcome clean, fair racers irrespective of ability.

One of the biggest problems in demo servers is wreckers.
There's an Israeli LFS community running, here (http://lfsisrael.com/). They often have races on the demo because not everyone has their S2 license yet, but many of them are serious. Lots of good races and racers, I hear.
I don't game with them though. I'm, uhhh, too cool for them. :)

Damn. Just found a nice server. clean and good racing, no crashes at turn 1, etc... for three races I couldn't get above 4th place. Learned a lot. 4th race, did some very nice driving and got to the final lap at 1st place. towards the end, someone that was standing on the side of the road, decided to take me out, I ended up flipped over and the race was over for me. Very frustrating.

You could save some money. Its worth it. But please be advice that if you play demo it doesn't guarantee you can play full version if your computer is to old. At demo you race with a max of 12 (not so sure but something like that) but on S2 there can be 32. So you're fps may drop down. Although ist not such an issue. My advice, save some money!!! :thumb:

Don't apologize, your English is far better than most Brits' or Americans' Finnish....
