FZ50 GT3 Cup: Test Event

Hi all! in order to familiarise everyone with the session format and to see how things go in a practice race, I've decided to hold a test event. You're not obliged to attend but I advise you to. Very simple really, the event will be a complete simulation of the first round (Blackwood, 1 x 45 minute qualifying session, 2 x 21 lap races) and start time will be determined by this poll (http://www.lfsforum.net/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=793).

Event info:

Date: June 5th, 2008

Start time: 7 / 8 PM GMT

Session format:

Qualifying session (45 minutes)

Race 1 / 21 laps (grid determined by qualifying positions)

Race 2 / 21 laps (grid determined by finishing positions of Race 1)

You're welcome to join, even if you're only thinking about joining the league.

If you wish to sign up for this event, leave a reply in this thread or send me a PM so that I can send the password for the day of the race :).

session format ;). The official Porsche Supercup have 4 sessions (2 x qualifying sessions and 2 x races (each 70 Km). Initially, I wanted to make this league a two day event but decided to make it one day to avoid the possibility of drivers not being able to attend both days so I stripped out one of the qualifying sessions and left the 2 races.

Just as a heads up..

you can now see my corsasport server on the LFS remote, i would suggest that what ever server is running this test that we do the same, its dead easy to setup and.. it would be ace for people to watch :)

I dont know how competitive i'll be with a controller cos thats the only thing i can drive with on wednesdays (im not home but have a laptop to play on) so can i participate and see if i'll be any good with it?

To answer AMB - I just drove 14 laps & got it down to 11:57 :shrug:
That was with Cup A (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=43603) & nothing changed. I could go faster though with it tweaked within the rules. My guess is 1:10 for pole.

So the two setups are finalized aren't they Leprekaun? Or will that be determined on Thursday?

Very sorry about the setups bit guys, just very hard to tune. I've increased the stiffness of the rebound dampers by 1.5 Ns to stabilise the car.

PB so far: 1:10.32 with the super stiff set.

So i had my first run on the server last night and geez Lep, there a couple seriously quick guys around, but based on the little 10 lap race that we did, looks like we all gonna be seriously struggling towards the end of a 19 or 20 lap race!
