ONEGP GROUP EVENT GUIDELINES AND RULES - to cover current and future events.
1) Event participation and Start times:
1a: All drivers interested in taking part in a scheduled event are expected to give reasonable notice , via a post, about intention to participate. This should be done at the very least 24hrs prior to the beginning of an event series..
1b: All drivers are to keep themselves informed of scheduled event start times, which will be available at from the forum, and will always be set in GMT Time. Failing to attend an event without giving prior notice, of at least 2hrs, may lead to exclusion from future events.
1c: All drivers who start an event are expected to finish the race to the best of their ability - meaning that retiring due to simply being off the pace of the leaders is not acceptable. Any drivers who do retire without substantial reason may be removed from further races in series and/or be excluded from future events.
1d: By showing intention to particapte in an event series, a driver thereby agrees to adhere to event guidelines and rules.
1e: All participants are expected to remain on the server until the end of the race. Failure to do so may lead to exclusion from further events.
2) DNF Results
2a: Any situation that sees a driver leave the track, will result in a DNF for that round. This will include :
-False Start to Spectate
-Timeouts or Loss of Connection to Host
-Teleporting to pits via SHIFT+P
-Jumping to Spectate with SHIFT+S
-Wrong Route to spectate
2b: Midrace joins will not be enabled - in the event that this option has not been set, the event admin may reserve the right to remove any driver from track if rejoining after any of the points listed in 2a.
2c: Points will not be awarded to any driver who is deemed a DNF regardless of the position the results show them in : For example -
-A DNF finish position of 8th will not score the normal 1 point awarded
to this position.
3) Driver Behaviour and Conduct
3a: All drivers are to race with due care and respect for other drivers. Admin will impose penalties on drivers who drive with lack of care for other racers. Particular attention will be paid to first lap incidents and any lack of care resulting in crashes on first lap will be looked upon closely. Any driver who continues to drive without due care, after penalties from admin, may be removed from taking further part in series.
3b: No driver is to spam messages during a race, such as blueflag binds etc.Penalties will be given after a warning in these circumstances. This will include excessive and unnecessary chat by drivers who are in spectate after retiring from track.
3c: At no time should any driver vote for a restart - either during qualification or race. Any driver who does vote for restarts may either be given a penalty (timed, stop/go or drive thru) or in worst case for repeated attempts, driver may be removed from server.
3d: It is each drivers responsibilty to be aware and and familiar with event rules and guidelines. No driver is to seek to exploit any of these rules to their advantage or to the disadvantage of others competitors.
3e: Any driver found to be using a cheat/hack of any form whilst on the servers, or while particapting in event, will be removed from the server and will face a permanent ban.
3f: No driver is to block messages at any time, during qualifying or race events. Doing so limits race admins ability to inform drivers of situations such as under safety car or any penalities that may be being given. Admin will always ensure no chatting during race events, so as such blocking of messages should never be required.
4) Pitstops/Pitlane
4a: In the case of any series requiring pitstops, the pitstops are to be completed in the proper manner, and is to be no exploiting by entering pits from exit etc. This will include any situation that involves use of the pit lane, such as drive-thru penalities or stop-go penalites.
4b: Where layout objects have been placed on a tracks pit lane entry or exit, these will be deem the official points of entry or exit to the pits. These take priority over any default marked yellow lines. Where no objects have been placed, then the yellow line
remains the contol line and crossing the pitlane exit line may result in a drive thru penalty for any driver.
5) Point System
5a: Points for all event series, current and future (unless otherwise specifically stated), will follow the current standard F1 points system, being -
1st - 10
2nd - 8
3rd - 6
4th - 5
5th - 4
6th - 3
7th - 2
8th - 1
6) Post Race Appeals
6a: In the event that any team feels an issue has been missed during a race, (regarding an accident - behaviour of drivers etc) a post race appeal process will be used This appeal requires the team mangers to provide the following information to admin@onegp.net (admin@onegp.net) within 24hrs after the race:
REQUIRED INFORMATION FOR APPEAL
- LFS USERNAME FOR ANY DRIVER/S INVOLVED:
- LAP THAT THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON:
- DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:
This will then be reviewed by the oneGP Group and a descision will be made within, where possible, another 24hrs as to the outcome of the appeal.
6b: The review process and penalties for post race appeals will be as follows.
Following a post race appeal submission from a team manager, oneGP will review the replay from as many views as possible until it believes it can make an appropriate descision regarding the incident. A post will then be made regarding the outcome as wells as basic reasons for the outcome. Penalites for any incident will be classified by the following possible outcomes
- RACING INCIDENT - Equal drivers blame - no penalty
- RACING INCIDENT - with warning
- AVOIDABLE MINOR INCIDENT - Drive through penalty (post race 30secs)
- AVOIDABLE MAJOR INCIDENT - Possible points deduction or exclusion for a set number of rounds
at discretion of race admin.
6c: When a post race appeal has been submitted to oneGP after a race, all parties mentioned in the appeal will be notified via email, and given 24hrs to provide a response as to their view on what occured during the incident. This will then be taken into consideration when the review board decides upon the outcome.
7) Safety Car Procedures
7a: Any situation that sees a car stranded during a race (eg: upsidedown, stuck in sandtrap, Out of fuel) may lead to a safety car period called by race admin. The process for a safety car period is as follows:
- Once aware of need for safety car, race admin will issue a rcm (large text msg) message stating "Caution - Safety Car"
- Safety car will then leave pits and attempt to pick up race leader. In the event that first car picked up is not race leader, race admin will issue a msg for driver to pass safety car and proceed
around track to rejoin rear of field.
- All cars will be expected to follow in single file behind safety car, at a safe distance to car in front (at least one car length) . No passing is allowed.
- On the lap that the safety car is returning to pits race admin will issue a new rcm message stating "Safety Car in this lap". No passing is allowed
- As safety car exits last turn before pit entry, race admin will clear all rcms messages and safety car will accelerate away towards pit entry. At this point the lead car becomes the "pace" and can set its own desired pace, but may still not pass the safety car until it has entered pit lane - No passing is allowed until Start/Finish.
7b: Points to note for safety car periods are:
- Any car that spins while under safety car period must rejoin the rear of pack, and may not reassume its prior position.
- Pitlane is open at all times under safety car periods.
- Under no circumstance, unless under instruction of race admin, must a car overtake the safety car or any other car on track during a full course yellow period. This also includes entry and exit of pitlane.
- If exiting pits as the safety car and field passes, a driver must join rear of field.
- When taking control of the field, after safety car prepares to enter pits, the lead driver may only change his pace one time - for example: he may slow, to bunch up the field and then acclerate away when desired, but he may not then slow up again. This would be deemed dangerous and unsporting behaviour and will result in an "inrace" stop-go penalty.
- While under safety car conditions no driver is to suddenly slow at any time, particularly when exiting a corner. This results in a chain reaction that is dangeraous and unsporting to all drivers. This will aslo result in driver penalties.
8) Driver Names
8a: oneGP requires all driver names, while racing in an oneGP event, to be in the following format:
- TEAM TAG - written in team colours and being no more that five (5) letter/digits
- DRIVERS REAL SURNAME - written in white only (may also inculde their first name initial if desired)
an example would be: [1GP] Surname
Car numbers are not to be used in race event names.
9) Qualifying Procedures
9a: Qualifying will run for 15minutes. During this time no driver is to use Shift P or Shift S while on track, and must return to pitlane before using any of these type commands. This therefore requires that proper inlaps and outlaps are done. This is to avoid distraction to other drivers on track, and create a more realistic qualifying session.
9b: The 4second rule: To ensure the quality and capiblities of drivers racing in oneGP events, drivers will be required to qualify within 4 seconds of the pole position time of any race. If a driver falls outside this 4 second allowance he will not be eligable to enter the race. This will ensure drivers come to events with sufficent practice and preparation. Only if one third (1/3) of the total field fails to meet this allowance will it be reconsidered at any round.
9c: Any setup may be used during qualifying, and is not restricted to using the planned race setup.
10) Amendments and Admin decisions
10a: In the case of any rules being exploited in any manner, or any particular rule being found to be lacking in its requirements, admin may make amendments, with the intention of closing any "loopholes" or known problems, at any time. This will be made known to all competitors at the time, and details outlining any change will be found in the forum.
10b: Where any particular rule doesnt have a specific penalty assigned, the penalty given will be at the discretion of event admin.
10c: Within reason, a result or race affecting decision may be questioned by a driver, but once a response has then been given by event admins, the matter will then be considered closed.
