Lol yeah, with a single, slow clap if you finish last. :D

Heh, just replace it with one of those sound effects from the oh-so-hated "shock flashs".
It would be like:
yay, I won!
...
...
?
...
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
!!!
*gasp* :faint:
*gets back on seat*
After a while the anticipation of when that horrifying sound appears again would already make you go nuts :D
E: Or better yet, make it randomly choose between the *clap clap* and the scream. Everyone would be terrified passing the finish line. :D :D

When you just underwent an hour of a thrilling race, I am sure you are glad you get at least some appreciation from the audience...

i remember from nascar 2002 or 2003 the guy use to say
"U wooooooooooon, well done.. dinner's on me" or somin like that
and if u didnt win hed say "better luck next time" there were other phrases he said but cant remember them all.. dont spend much time oval racing...
IMO the applause is ok, its quite suttle and i recon it should be kept!!!! it might actually sound better if the game was programmed to know u were on your final lap and the over all crown noise would go up with airhorns hooting etc... be a nice touch.. but do we really need all that?:scratchch

I'd like them to clap slower depending on what position you finish.
lol how about a 'boooo!' when you get last :tilt:

I'd like to hear Nicky Grist from Colin McRae Rally (1997, Codemasters :)) saying things like "stop messin' aboot" and "you're hitting the coones" during an AutoX session :D
And how about some wild cheering when you pull off a spectacular passing move, or hit one of those red & white barriers, pull a dozen spins and land on your wheels?

In Richard Burns Rally there is also "OH NO!" and some other voices. Some 3rd party pacenotes have replaced those sounds with swearwords. :)
And what about some kind of stupid male voice saying "FINAL LAP!" like in the original Need For Speed series. :) Actually that would be very useful. I've stopped racing many times and then realised that there was still one lap to go...

A well placed "OH NO!" would be great! I think if you're riding with passengers, there should definitely be screams of terror if you crash or flip the car - or perhaps just simple, heart-felt abuse: "what the f*** do you think you're doing? You coulda killed us all you goddam psycho!"

All these are well and good if they are add-ons, but I definitely would not like to see them released as a part of the official LFS. Would end up looking a bit childish and if any language is used, offensive.

Guess I should've added a ";)" or something...

Like in RBR where the driver (or co-driver, I'm not sure) shouts "oowww" every time you accidently drive 120km/h into a tree?
NotAnIllusion

Can you imagine that in an endurance race, lol. It would drive me insane, not to mention distracting me from getting around the circuit as fast as possible (or fast enough). :p

In Mafia (that game you know) passengers speaks and screams a lot when driving like mad. :)

If you gave voices to the co-drivers I wouldn't be able race anymore :chairs:
All the shouting, swearing and screaming would drive me crazy :D Or turn the sounds off. But no,wait... I can still hear screaming... be right back :D

I've changed my finishing sound a while ago, i replaced the 'loser' sound
(when you don't finish 1st or something) with a 'golf' clapping sound with
some laughing and some booing :) I put a huge stadium full of people
cheering sound for the winner.
