Championship Update

Round 4 saw a very fast race at the demanding Westhill International track. In qualifying SR Junkan and FRO|TenmanTaylor posted times very close to the WR for the track with superb laps. SR Junkan just pipping FRO's TenmanTaylor to the pole.

The race turned into a battle of strategies with Junkan and Taylor on very different strategies. Junkan using a low downforce R3 set took some time to get his tyres to a optimum condition and Taylor was able to establish a early lead on his R4's. As the race progressed Junkan was able to increase his speed with his R3's cooling and optimised. Taylor's speed was very strong and prior to collision with the spun car of PRT Sitter looked able to defend his early lead.

Damage to the car of FRO|Taylor slowed the driver and SR's Junkan was able to catch the driver. A great battle developed with the two leaders swapping position for the lead multiple times. However with a damaged car, Taylor had no reply to Junkans speed at this later stage of the race and nursed his car home for a superb 2nd place in his debut drive in the series.

AMD's RobeyBoby came home in 3rd place, able to catch and pass FRO|Maissi for 3rd in the dying stages of the race after a late spin by Maissi required a extra pit stop.

Round 5 This Saturday

oneGP team now move to the ultra tough FernBay Gold track a tight track with no room for error and a hard race for all drivers over 57 laps of the circuit comes this Saturday.

It promises to be a ultra fast race with PRT's Sitter pushing World Record times in qualifying and all teams testing extensively for this round so a tough and close race beckons.

Two team slots are now available in oneGP, if your a competitive BF1 racer looking for hard competitive events and a league, consider joining oneGP for the remaining rounds.

Best, Maz

After a good race in Fern Bay, the Team title is still within reach for either FRO or SR...a bad race from FRO puts SR right back in it...SR will need to be sure to keep up high performance these last 4 rounds to keep the title fight close.

Hibex is very close to locking up the Driver's title, 30 points up on the second place person.

Updated with Round 11 Official.

As has been Posted, Hibex is the 2008 Champion by way of his 32 point lead over 2nd place.

The Team fight is still close, with FRO, SR, and AA still all mathematically with a shot. There are 54 points available for the remainder of the season to teams ( 10 + 8 = 18 x 3 = 54 ), so AirAttack is still very much mathematically in it. The close fight is between SR and FRO...SR seeing their big lead early in the season dwindle down, to lose it around the midpoint, but they're on the prowl back.

Points are now posted and reflect what we have going into the final round of the 2008 oneGP F1 World Series.

The Driver's Championship is locked up, but the Team Championship is mathematically alive still, with 18 points available to a team. FRO are in the catbird's seat with this. Here's the deal for the Team Championship:

FRO simply need to score at least 3 points to seal the Team Title. The worst any two SR drivers can finish and still have a shot at winning is 1st and 4th. An SR driver MUST win to have a shot. In the event of a tie, I would break by most team wins, etc. Offhand, without checking, I would believe that this would give SR the title.

One single FRO driver finishing 4th or better would mean the title is FROs. 5th and 8th or better would also seal it.

Sadly, it's not closer than this, I would like to see it closer. But on the other hand, this could encourage more "all-out" racing in Round 14.
