oneGP Round 1 Results - 39laps at Kyoto National


For starters i must thank UKCT James12s for taking care of the race admin for the race - unfortunately i was called out and was unable to attend - which made for a tricky start to oneGP.

There were the first round teething problems to be expected in any new league, but all in all i think things have started off well, and the issues that have arisen will help point oneGP in a stronger direction once resolved - big thanks from myself to all those that took part, to start off the first oneGP season,

The results for round one are as follows, these may yet be reviewed under any post race appeal.

Well, considering i didn't do really much practise i did well :thumb: Though at lap 2 i messed my chance to get more points. Oh well, 1 point is good enough :P

I am so angry at what happened during that race, during lap 7 my virus checker decided to run updates and minimized my LFS game while I was running 3rd. Luckily I didn't take anyone out during that trouble but had a real close call with [AA] Martini on that long last turn by the pits. So I had to limp around 1 lap after hitting 2 walls hard then go to the pits and change my 1 stop race to a 2 stop or else I would have been heavy on fuel.

Another lucky thing that happened is that a lot of people took themselves out so I was able to work back from 11th to 6th to at least make some points.

Hehe thanks mate, these are one of the reasons i requested all team skins. A visual start grid looks much more appealing then a plain written one, and gives people a chance to associate drivers with team colors.

Thanks guys - its just an attempt to create a bit of awareness and association with team colors etc - its easier to get interest and support for a team if u have a bit more than just a written name :)

BTW @FReeDoM - sorry about lack of info before round one mate - i really had a terrible start with being called out etc , so info didnt get out to you - was a shakey start to oneGP on my behalf lol, but thankfully the guys kept it going for me - ill be sure to give you more info next time ;)

i actually did went into the server and watch the like the first quarter of the race just to see how james is doing with the SC. but then realise there was not SC in that round. xD
and then i left because i have to work on my maths assignment. =S

I have thought about that actually, i was thinking maybe a mangers one - and a drivers one. Though ive been that damn busy at moment i havent had a chance to put any more thought into it. Definitely something id like to do though, so any suggestions or help in that will be welcome :)

EDIT- yes james ;)- maybe a saftey car one too - or general one for oneGP Group members that preform an administering role like sc etc

lol yeah - was 2 min job - dont plan on actually using that one. Just thinking what would want to show, like championship driver, and how would show it - or maybe team based ones would be better to cover all members of a oneGP team - then a seperate one for oneGP race officials (sc drivers etc).

*EDIT* Im considering making a new oneGP html page for www.oneGP.net to front the oneGP forum etc, maybe ill come up with userbars that will meet the theme of the page.

Having now completed the race appeal reviews, i can confirm that none of the penalties have affected the finished race order and positions will stand as they are. (although with a 30sec post race penalty to FRO Hibex made it close for 2nd and 3rd places with him and FLP/r Jouman)

A championship standings page will now be made for Drivers and Team standings as soon as possible.

i read through them and was wondering about the starting from pitlane, that will be a big penalty cos you have to wait for quite a time after the start then oyu have to exit the pitlane and go down the pit exit, i think this one may need to be rethought

The join option at race start has a 10sec countdown to my knowledge - and then roughly another 20sec at max to drive out of pit - which would roughly translate into the 30sec penalty.

The other option to replace a 30sec penalty for DNF finishers would be to just enforce a rear of grid start by disallowing qual for the driver instead of the penalty - i myself prefer the first option though as it enforces the 30sec penalty same as what would happen to a race finisher. After all, a driver doesnt get a 30sec penalty unless they have done something that warrants it :)

i see what your saying, it also depends heavily on how far down the pit lane they are which does make it a little unfair to me but thats just my opinion :)
