I would if I wasn't working! Stop teasing me with that, I just might quit my day job. . . (Haha, I don't think so I got a nice one :)) But yea, I wish I could race with you guys there but I'm just gonna try staying on road and staying as clean as possible! Can't wait for the event!

Since this track is quite inviting for cutting road markings and our goal to keep it fair for everyone has high priority, we'd like to indicate our rule §3.2.2 not to ignore pit entry and exit lines - I just created this high-quality (:D) picture as a reminding illustration: http://ld-host.de/show/71cdd2e081ca007c672dda1e7cf120a8.jpg

Is there a pit window on this race or we can pit whenever we like?

lococost

oh, good thing you asked that question! I read over the mandatory stop, that explains the high quality pic! I was wondering why anyone would want to take that line in a race anyway :)

Enlightened Loco.

No restrictions except for first (heavy damage only) and last lap here. :)

17th May 2008, 21:14
With the pitstop do we need to refuel or change tyres mandatory ?

And i need to start last.. do i need to watch complete quali ?
or can i just go and you go to end screen and do the grid again in the good way ?

evilpimp
17th May 2008, 21:21
Yeh, for the pitstop can we just stop and go? During practice I didn't need to change tires or refuel or fix damage or anything :P. So I hope we can simply stop n go.

ussbeethoven
18th May 2008, 06:58
No, it's just a S&G for this race. To answer Rudy's question, four drivers are not allowed to qualify today - but you can use the practice session before and the 10min break after to warm-up yourself.

lococost
18th May 2008, 08:08
if the 'failed four' don't qualify, how will their starting order be? They can't all start last.

Rudy van Buren
18th May 2008, 08:57
Yea cant you just let us drive quali, Then to end race screen kick our 4 out the list and the order how was the fastest you order the last 4 agian ??

oke bad english hope you get what i mean :P

Well, I had something different in mind, but I think we'll use your idea for this race temporary. :)

danowat
18th May 2008, 12:54
Personally, I don't like that idea, if there are 4 people banned from qualifying, then they shouldn't qualify.

Whats the point of having drivers qualifying, using up track space, when they arent going to get a place on the grid from it?.

Can you imagine if one of the drivers allowed to qualify, got taken out, hit, held up, by a banned qual driver?

Hey, so as there's still 2 free slots I'll be racing today, right?

I'll put a good number of laps in this afternoon, looking forward to it :)

I completely agree on your points, I was just looking for a fair way to determine the order of those four punished drivers - unfortunately there seems to be a gap for this in the rules as well. After discussing that issue with troy we came along with this temporary compromise:

- quali will be extended to 20min, keeping usual league rules
- first 5min for punished drivers only
- all other drivers can leave pits at the 15min mark, punished ones are allowed to complete their lap and have to spec immediately after crossing the finish line
- grid will be adjusted manually via race entry screen when everyone did his/her last fast lap

Well, I will be the first to start the POST race discussion and lap one isn't even over... REALLY UPSET at the moment so forgive this post... LFS decided to stay black and lock up not letting me do anything except listen to other cars... Yup, waste of time that practice was! Really upset....

TAYLOR-MANIA
18th May 2008, 20:06
Yeah I felt your pain when you left on the start grid. Bad timing...Has that ever happened before??

Well I enjoyed the race. I was surprised to qualify 9th & finished 8th. Quite happy with that actually :)

I had a nice couple of laps with MistaTea after a lonely middle part.
I was the first to pit to avoid everyone, but if there's one person who I know I can race hard with then it's him :thumb: Good racing Tea and a good comeback after Lap 1!

I'm looking forward to more of the same next week, see you all then.

Thanks Taylor, great racing from you too! Was a great battle. Kept me behind you for quite a bit :P. Sorry about coming into you in lap 1, didn't think you guys would be beside me that fast O_O! I guess it was my fault but I'm happy that I wen't from 16th to 7th :)

And once again I beat my PB during the race :)

@BB - That sucks :(, REALLY sucks :S. I hope for you that it gets fixed and that you will be racing next weekend :).

Hmm I don't think anyone's to blame really, just a racing incident/accident

I was just as surprised as you to see them close up like that under braking...
If I gave more room on my left then it might not of happened, but I had no chance to react he (polma) came in so fast!
But if I did move over then I would've hit the guy to my right, so there wasn't much I could do!

I watched it from Polma's view and he had plenty of space but decided to divebomb so you couldn't do anything about it specially that it was a 3-4 wide O_O. But whatever, once again, I got unlucky. I always get unlucky in races -_-. Bleh.

Really really bad race for me. I failed in Q. Started really badly. Got a penalty in pits and everything else that could go wrong, went wrong. Bleh, so much practice time wasted... Oh well, I'm confident I'll do better in South City.

18th May 2008, 23:29
Well at least ^^ you ^^ got to race, sorry to hear about your bad luck. To answer the questions above about my incident, it was fixed when I restarted LFS and rejoined the server but by then I got to see the racers enter the chicane on lap one and I knew my race was ended :( very sad... And no its never happened before and I have never seen or heard of this, besides it happened to my teammate in GFC at the westhill race... Totally sucks!

19th May 2008, 06:12
Well, it went ok for me, I was a bit off the pace really, so spent most of my race running alone, had an enjoyable last 3 laps trying to catch jward, didn't quite manage it though.

March Hare
19th May 2008, 06:31
Race went quite well by my standards. Atleast I got to do the full race. First two laps were a slideshow hell with about 10-20 FPS. After the field spread out more it got better. Lost a big amount of time during the pitstop. Maybe I shouldn't fill up during the pitstop. Just do a stop&go. And just when I thought I might have a chance against lonely_driver the leaders started to lap me.

Quess what. My windows HD just blew up again. Turned comp off yesterday after the race. This morning I turn it on and it sounds like it's trying to read a floppy disk (like you young people know what they are) with a load off bad sectors.

I -ing want a new computer. If I get a real superduper one it'll solve my FPS problems too. Clouds and silver linings I quess.

Just want to present Polma's words on ICQ. He's sorry about that and if there'll be some penalty, he'll accept it, as it was definitely his fault (He can't speak english that well, so that's why I'm writing this).
