FPS going down... [solved - ATI drivers issue]

So as the title says, i've been having some problems with FPS lately. The game was running perfect before, but after a little system recovery it went wrong. Frame rate has gone down to 20 while in car, and about 30 in chase camera mode. Usually it was about 120 - 150.

I've been trying to change my video card drivers but that won't help. Same with reinstalling the game. I tried to do something with the in-game display settings, that won't work aswell. So i can't solve this.

Something big that ran in the background, but you removed and now the restore put it back and you don't realize it? I don't know, I don't run XP and don't have any experience with restoring. When I restore, it is going back to factory specs reinstalling the operating system with HP's BS restore disk which means I have to reinstall everything including all new drivers and all settings I have customized in Windows. I try not to do that as it's so much work to get rid of all the extra crap that's put on new computers. That above is the only thing I can suggest other than video drivers which you say you're already trying.

Extra crap? Deffinatly not, i use this setting for ages and it's always been good. I can't imaginge what has gone wrong since all other games are running perfectly.

Hardware specs? You runnin' an ATi card? Changed to 5.12/5.13 lately?

1024 RAM
256 MB ATi Radeon 9600XT

So much for the hardware. Well i got the latest drivers [5.13]. You think that's it?

Some issue with the ATI drivers - you need to switch back to 5.11 drivers.
