WELCOME TO ONEGP (http://www.lfsworld.net/remote/?host=www.onegp.net)

oneGP's goal is to create a detailed and competitive online F1 series using LiveForSpeed, with team management and driver contracts to help create the immersion and ongoing feeling of a series from season to season.

This will be backed up with well maintained support series such as the currently planned FBMW series and GTi Cup Series, giving the oneGP F1 Team Managers further areas to look for upcoming talent to recruit to their respective F1 Teams.

To compliment these series further, from the pinnacle of the F1 series right down to the support series, oneGP will provide a group of dedicated people reporting the races, governing over conflicts, and generally looking after the well being and enjoyment for all involved.

9 F1 teams will be available to Team Manager applications as we approach the first ever season of oneGP with each team supporting 2 drivers to make a field of 18cars. Teams managers may also recruit reserve drivers to be used for testing or to take the place of a team driver in the event that one cannot make it - really how detailed a team becomes is entirely up to its Team Manager. Teams could seek sponserships and advertise there own team - or they could simply run for the enjoyment with as little as a two man team.

Based out of Texas in the USA this helps ensure a useable ping for many racesr from Australia through USA on to Europe, allowing a greater range of drivers to race with a reliable ping.

The server is a 20slot server allowing the 18car grid, the oneGP safety car and the Administering Race Official all to be present for each round. This will also be connected to the insim relay allowing people such as the Team Managers to spectate the races via LFS Remote or similar applications.

Any desire to use voice comms between a team, such as Teamspeak or Ventrillo, will be entirely up to the Team Manager , and will be their sole responsibitly to organise this service for their team.

Server name is simply "www.oneGP.net".

what time would the race be on?
because i got school but im interested in being the safety car driver (one of those things i always wanted to do =])

btw. i have competed in 357 races and driven 2,763 laps on the CTRA system with 14 race wins (3%), 101 podiums(28%), finishes 265 races (74%), 7 fastest lap (1%) and 598 yellow flags(21%).
and driven 11201 Km online in total

is that good enough to apply for SC driver?

thanks,
Jonathan

Hi Bee,

Have received your email and replied - as far as the GMT times i will have to check and confirm on that - which will be updated in the FBMW thread at www.onegp.net once confirmed

Also has been several others email regarding taking part in FBMW series and ill update the list of confirmed racers in the forum shortly

Thanks again for your interest :)

Hi james - thanks for your interest :)

As far as the review board goes, im happy to hear applications from anyone in the LFS community, yourself included - as i wish to see this be something that the community can enjoy and take part in.

The review board positions are quite simple and just require a good understanding of driving conduct. Basically the review boards job is to review any situations that are brought to our attention after a race eg: a crash between two drivers that has gone unnoticed by admin during a race, where it may be due to reckless driving on behalf of one of the drivers. The review board then would be asked to look at the replay, and as a group decide the appropriate outcome , such as a 30sec time penalty added to the drivers race finish time for example.

This way hopefully a reasonable and unbiased judgement can be made in situations such as these.

If you would like ill add your name to my list of applicants for the SC driver and for a review board position - and if you pm me your email address ill let you know the result once positions are confirmed.

Hi Pacesetter,

As zenguimod was kind enough to point out, our planned support series for season one are the FBMW series and the GTi Cup Series [XFG]. These will follow the F1 series rounds, and race laps are based on 100km for all support races .Thanks for your interest.

10 am gmt?

Hi Stefani24,

If you are interested in taking part you will just have to let me know which series it is exactly that you would like to be involved in - there are the two support series which are open to individual drivers - as well as the main F1 series, which is open to Team Managers to apply for a position, which requires them to have at least two drivers signedup to race for their team.

If you need any more information feel free to ask, and thanks for your interest.

oneGP would like to welcome "AirAttack Racing" as our next team listed for the "oneGP F1 World Series".

AirAttack Racing will be managed by EQ Worry
Driver lineup is to be announced from the AirAttack Team.
oneGP wishes them all the best in the upcoming season.

*note - anyone that knows myself in LFS will know that i am also a member of airattack and admin for their servers - but i myself will not be taking part in any of their racing with oneGP, and ill be remaining in a purely admin role - this is another reason for the oneGP Race Review Board, providing independent/unbiased reviews where needed.

SilverArrows77
29th April 2008, 06:01
To confirm for those that have asked about start times - they will be as follows (feel free to correct me if ive buggered up the time differences lol)

All races fall on a Saturday -
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=42684

This is the time of race start for the F1 series - qualifying will be directly before race start - and the support series races will be in the hours before F1 qual begins. GTi Cup series will start off the day, followed by FBMW Series , onto the F1 Series

This may change slightly as we get nearer to the first round (but will be absolute at least one week before first round)- but i will keep all involved up to date with this information.

By "too bad" do you mean that you feel you cant take part in F1 Series as you do not have another driver to form a Team with? if this is the case dont let it hold you back from plans with F1, as i may be able to match you with another driver in a similar situation who you can then form team with and decided upon who will take the actual Manager position too.

For anyone interested in the F1 series, dont be turned off by the fact that you may not have someone else to form a team with - simply let me know here or in a pm (or email) and i can help sort out and match drivers to form Teams for the series

ok, whatever, fbm series (FR | Stefan Alfons is my racername)

SilverArrows77

with all the races etc before the f1 what time would it all start (uk time)

Well if were to look at it from the start time of the Gti Cup qualifying (first event of race day) should that series receive enough interest to be run, then the day would run roughly as follows in UK TIME

7:30am Gti Cup Qualifying
7:45am Gti Cup Race

9:00am FBMW Series Qualifying
9:15am FBMW Series Race

10:40am oneGP F1 World Series Qualifying
11:00am oneGP F1 World Series Race

I realise that the Gti Cup starts time are early but i would like to think that those interested in running seriously in the series would be willing to make that effort (i myself have raced many event races, at what has been 3 or even 4 am)

Although at this point i am considering running all the events 1 hour later - which means the day would start off with Gti Cup Qual at 8:30am UK Time. On this i am as yet not decided.

Yes mate - after first season it will be anyway - for season one numbers are open as long as there is no conflict with anther teams numbers.

As far as can team managers race - YES they certainly can, im more than happy for this to happen - i also fully support any team manger who doesnt want to race himself, but rather put the effort into finding and recruiting good drivers to race for his team from season to season.

Hey scipy - have several people im in contact with at moment who are about to launch their teams for the series (waiting on confirmations) so will be more teams listed soon - i also have people who are looking for a spot as a driver, these people i could match together to form a team for the series. If you would like me to help match you with another let me know and ill see what i can do - just going off the posts here in the thread i would suggest speaking (send a PM) to Stefani24, he is also interested in finding a team spot - maybe you two could form a team together :)

As your the safety car driver mate, im happy for you to choose the car which you would prefer to use for it - i was thinking fz5, but rb4 or fxo is fine too :)

You can't seriously be making the RB4 a safety car. The whole idea of a safety car in LFS is idiotic all together as nothing that would demand a safety car on track is simulated in LFS (shards of carbon on the track, oil spils, unmovable cars or danger to human life) - but if you really "need" the safety car then it sure as hell cannot be a RB4. In real F1 it's a 5.5 liter supercharger AMG mercedes because it needs to go fast enough to allow the F1 cars to keep at least some heat in the tires - otherwise it just poses more danger when the race is restarted. The only cars in LFS that would suffice as a safety car are the 490 hp GTR class, and even those need to be driven pretty fast for our F1 to keep any heat in R3 tires.

james12s
1st May 2008, 13:27
i said that list of 3 cars to make myself understood that i meant what car not like what does a saftey car do, i wasnt actually saying about having that as the sc, and after testing in the fz5 that is hard to get round corners at 100km that the f1cars wouldnot struggle with so i am making a sujestion of either the xfr or one of the gtrs, fxr i would prefer,as for not needing one, you do, to simulate the f1 series, many series have a saftey car ; lfscar, some of the enduro leauges including igtc, and more have one

Actually, we have decided on the fz5 which will suffice nicely as the safety car.

Yes there are no oils spills etc in LFS, but tracks such as KY2 (currently on server) do have sandtraps that are near impossible to drive a BF1 out of (first chicane sand trap is perfect example if you end up in the wrong spot) - thus we will be simply asking drivers not to remove themselves from track if stranded (or upside down after a roll etc) and allow admin to remove them when deemed appropriate. The use of the safety car in this manner is to create some of the "in race" strategy and randomness that happens in "real life" events - its not perfect but it adds something otherwise lacking in lfs

*EDIT* lol beaten to it - anyway, as i have said to james previously, im happy for the safetycar to be whatever car he and FReeDoM decide fits best

i meant fxr lol, silver wants the lap done at about 100kph with the fz5 it would have been quite erratic due to having to slow for corners the f1 could do easily at 100kph, my 2 poroposals are either the fxr or xfr

If you both are happy with the FXR then thats fine by me guys :) sounds like a fair car for doing the job! Actual lapping speed will work out more after some testing - see what feels about the right speed.

if you'd like to help out by doing the skin mate then that would be great - ill see what files i can round up for ya - the ONEGP part in the banner is actually just a font so its easy to work with - can get the font at http://www.dafont.com/alpha.php?lettre=t&page=18 (top of page -"thirsty for souls")

Wasn't sure you were gonna decide on the FXR so I made evidence before you said that the SC will be the FXR. So here goes:

Tire temps after 4 laps of race-pace in BF1 (even the standing start lap is more than 10 seconds faster than FXR hotlap):

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii21/scipy/lfs_00000041.jpg

Then Jonesy came out with the FXR as i was in the last corner (I caught up after T1), these are the tire temps after 2/3 of a lap behind FXR (from 1st split to main straight):

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii21/scipy/lfs_00000046.jpg

And we decided that SC would stay out for 1 more lap (although this would be completley unnecessary in the race) - so the tire temps after 1 more complete lap:

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii21/scipy/lfs_00000047.jpg

It took another 4 laps to get the tires back to operating temperature, because once you cool them down and their regular heat cycle is broken they take even more time to heat up - driving on these tires after 2 laps of SC was just like driving on 4 ice cubes. Btw, Jonesy wasnt going slow in FXR, he was hotlaping the car around doing 1:36 laps - and still the temps look like they look.

Thanks for that scipy - is nice to have that bit of info , - to be honest i hadnt thought of that side to safety car, as ive been thinking about the other areas of oneGP and what needs doing.

As you would have read, we have decided on the FXR for safety car now, so that should prove just about right for it and hopefully be able to set a good pace for F1 cars too follow :thumb:

Thanks again mate :)

The oneGP F1 World Series now has 4 of a possible 9 teams entered, with another two teams to be announced in the next few days once confirmation of team names etc has been received - taking the total teams entered to 6.

This leaves 3 (possibly 4) teams left up for grabs at this stage, with the series due to kick off on the 17th of May. All entries are considered as we are not about making this a field of WR drivers, but rather a place for all experience levels to come take part. All that is required is good careful driving and desire to race ;)

Also i should mention that the start time of 10am (GMT) for the f1 series is currently being reconsidered to fit better with drivers involved - currently i am happy to see the time pushed later to 12 GMT if this is better suited to those wishing to take part.

ive been looking through some video clips from last year canadian GP. the cars were fairly slow under SC period. my guessimation would be the cars are more than 30s slower than their normal pace. so i guess the FXR would be perfect for SC.

EDIT: a friend of mine told me the cars were lapping approx. 2.16 under SC last weekend. was about 55s slower than the fastest lap of the race

Having done a search across the forums, you WILL NOT (or any other TR team member) be given a place in any oneGP series. Im sure you realise why, but if needed ill PM you the reasons as it not my place to say further here.

TEST SESSION (oneGP F1 World Series) - 14th May (8pm GMT)
The oneGP server will be hosting test session races on the above
date for the oneGP F1 World Series entrants. This will also be open to guests who are considering entering the series.

This is not a requirement for any of the oneGP F1 World Series teams, but will provide a good chance to get a look at the competition and get a feel for the first track in the series.

Hi mate - the proposed time schedule is as follows (all on saturdays), in UK time (GMT+1 at moment)

7:30am FZR SuperCup Qualifying
7:45am FZR Supercup Cup Race

9:00am FBMW Series Qualifying
9:15am FBMW Series Race

10:40am oneGP F1 World Series Qualifying
11:00am oneGP F1 World Series Race

There may be a change to a time of 2 hours later - but this is as yet undecided.

Hope that helps ;)

2, even three hours later for every of the one gp series would be great.
(you'd most likely fill the grids easier and faster if the race times were later than those.)

yeah i agree , and i think the push to 2 hours later is definitely going to happen - may help the support categories fill a bit more then - the F1 series is looking like its going to reach a full grid , so if the time shift helps the support series , then im all for it :)

To those that may be interested, there is now only 1 team position left in the oneGP F1 World Series. To secure this last team spot in the championship please email your interest to admin@onegp.net

Also, now with 8 of the 9 Team positions filled, those drivers who may be looking for a seat within a team should now contact the individual team managers with their interest. Team Manager details are available in the forum at www.onegp.net (http://www.onegp.net). Most teams have there starting lineups confirmed , but one or two may still require the services of one more driver within their team, or a reserve driver.

_____________________________________________

Also dont forget the support series categories, featuring the FZR SuperCup and the Formula BMW Series - driver positions here are still available and open to any who wish to compete in a full championship schedule.

Thanks to all drivers and team managers who have already confirmed to the oneGP series :thumb:

The oneGP F1 World Series now has its full list of teams confirmed for the first season, with Sonicrealms Racing taking the last available position.

Teams that that still require the services of drivers are as follows, and interested people should contact the appropriate team managers:

Pharaohs Racing Team - Team Manager: Ihab Abbas
Team thread HERE (http://onegp.forum-motion.net/team-pharaohs-racing-team-f8/)

Basically it will be entirely up to the team managers and drivers mate. Soon basic contracts between teams and drivers will be worked out, including points such as contract period etc - if a drivers contract period is up and a team no longer wishes to use the services of that driver, then it is quite possible that a team may be looking for a new driver/s during a season.

Shame about your pc :( but i know a few teams would probably like the services of a test driver - best thing to do would be to make a post at the www.onegp.net forum, in the f1 series section, stating that you are looking to test drive for a team - the team mangers will no doubt see it there then :thumb:

Due to the inactivity of one of the teams, there is now one last F1 team position available for the oneGP F1 World Series. This is the last chance to take part in the series, for any team that is interested, until the expansion to 11 teams for the 2009 season (and then only one team will be available as the 11th will be a "special" team which details of will be announced in future)

To apply for this last team postition send a request to admin@onegp.net stating:

- LFS username of the proposed two team drivers
- Proposed Team Name
- LFS username of Team Manager if is not one of the two drivers.

With just over a week until round 2 at Blackwood Grand Prix, this is your chance to take part in the action of season 1.
