How about this for something different.

South City Long, set in Cruise Mode, with two way traffic. So, the keep left rule applies. People driving sensible cars at the speed limit (60kph) have right of way. So now you can race your mates in amongst traffic where if you have a bad accident, you may get kicked, but you won't get hurt.

Now you can do this dangerous practice where it's safe to do so.

If you cause to many accidents, you may be restricted to a sensible car, be kicked, suspended or banned. You must avoid having an accident at all costs. Even a minor scratch on another's car could see you in trouble.

If you do crash your car, leave it on the track until the tow trucks come and take it away automatically. Passing cars are allowed to ridicule you until the tow trucks remove your wreck.

Come see how good a street racer you are! Can you and your mates race through traffic at high speed without causing an accident?

Fresh idea, mixture of racing and cruising. Don't know if it is going to flourish or not, 'tho.

Racers will naturally avoid it because it is still cruising.
Cruisers will naturally avoid it, because they don't have necessary skills to race. Whoops, did I said that aloud? :)

Your a demo racer, you can't join an S2 server.

And its a joinLFS link meaning you must use the program called Join2LFS (IIRC) which lets you click those links to join the server.

I am demo player(not for long) but I race and keep practising,at friend house ( lfs s2 ) i do 3-4s off wr time with fbm and I only had few practise laps. Im sure you all drifters,dragers,cruisers can do the same?(not epeen,but just racing fact)

Well at wow most of hunters who choose NE are noobs(atleast in alakir realm ) because they cant turn passive mode with pet,cant kite in pve,pvp and do some normal stuff,i used to play wow with rogue,hunter and played world pvp mostly so i've seen lots of noobs ne rogue,hunter and its being said liek "ZOMFG LIEK ME IZ NE 1337 H4x pwn uololol guyz lol!!111" too much ot ,but all im saying ppl who choose one thing(drifting,cruising...) cant just go and race with decent time ,but IF you go cruising,drifting just for fun after long racing i see no problem here

im saying there's nothing wrong with racers who drift,cruise time to time,and im sure most of players do lfs for fun ,but if drifters,cruisers want something more from RACING sim its something wrong like . I tolerate drifters ,but only if they not trying to change idea of lfs. And about wow most =/= all.

theres no point of making a cruise server where street racing is allowed because you can simply ask someone to race you in a real cruise server.

how would you know anyways? your demo...besides there are plenty of people on S2 who drift and cruise regularly, and manage to grip just as well...

I don't race online because I don't like when people takes it too seriously. However, I sometimes race against AI's, and more often try to beat my own personal records (I don't do hotlaps, I like to beat my own records, not others. I just want to improve myself. Nothing is more satisfying to notice after a hard day that I have dropped my average lap-time by half a second).

So, only thing I do online is cruising. Does that make me a slow newbie?

And to the original idea in this thread:
Where will you find enough people to just drive around to make it more interesting? Everyone will be wanting to race, no? And in that case you just have yourself a cruise server where there is no realistic order in any way.
