The STCC has been put on extended hold for the time being. It took too much time, for too little return to continue with at the moment.
There is still the possibility of investment and televisual broadcasting, but it's a long shot with a small chance.
To all intents and purposes I believe it to be over.

did the last race of the season ever make it into 'broadcast' format or was it knocked on the head?

That sucks. Thats what I was slowly but surely working my way towards in getting my platinum license for, to race in the STCC.
Well, what to do now. Server 3 is hardly in use anymore for GT2, Server 2 you get a few TBO cars in there but mostly the LX6.
Broadcasts or not, the CTRA should think seriously about some sort of race league for those who have put in so many hours to reach a goal, like the STCC. Sam?

Sam?
X2 is really our primary focus at the moment, which opens the door for pretty well anyone to run a CTRA league within the CTRA (as well as non-CTRA, CTRA-affiliated leagues - more on that later).
We don't have plans for a new broadcast-format, viewer-oriented league at this time, which is what set the STCC apart from other leagues when it was launched. However, we do have an affiliation with Vykos through eSports-Online. I haven't talked with him on this topic yet, but if we were to get into a position where a CTRA league were viable for us, that's definitely where we'd go. If anyone's NOT watched the broadcasts or weekly summaries coming out of eSports-Online, they're missing out. It's great quality stuff.
This is a proper, full-on, long-term projection: we would be unlikely to run a live CTRA broadcast and would be much more likely to go the delayed broadcast route, because we'd want to do some post-production work and get our commentary laid down properly. We'd essentially follow the STCC format, I think, in large part but I'd like to use Vykos's camera tools, if we could negotiate use of them (not touched on yet with him). They're the bees knees.

Partially, yes. But it wasn't the hissy fit you make it sound like. Illness, operations, new job opportunities and the like (real life) became more important than a computer game league for her.

This is - http://stcc.bansheestudios.com/talk/index.php
I have no idea if i'm meant to post this or not, as it's hidden in the "drivers only" section of the forum, but here is a direct quote from Becky...
"I have no plans to run a second season of the STCC"
Several drivers involved in Series one have also pulled out (including me).
With the situation with Becky (and the animosity between Becky & "UKCT" - I do NOT wish to get involved in this) I cannot see her returning for a second series.

Your license is useful still. You will need a license to race in any E-Sport leagues and events in the near future and as Sam said once X2 is out you will have the ability to use your license to gain access to leagues that are governed by the CTRA.

Excellent. And yes, I have seen Round one of the ETM. Nice camera work indeed and the commentary was good. With the races being an hour long, I understand the shortness of the race coverage, but was still cool to see.
Some of those drivers are excellent, I was amazed at some of the side-by-side action. Im not sure Id be ready for that kind of competition, though Ive considered it. A GT2 or TBO class Id be all over.

I don't want to get involved with the STCC because I don't like the "air" between Becky & UKCT. Also, I just didn't have the time - Now i've got my girlfriend (yes, definitely a keeper :P) and started doing my A-Levels I don't even have time for LFS!

Then its a completely new thing...
anyhow - without 'poking' anyone, is your attraction the 'broadcasting' bit or not?
If it's not - then you are really just interested in a decent format TBO league... which anyone 'could' organise. :D

Broadcasts though neat to have, Im just thinking of a TBO or GT2 league CTRA style. With the wicked races Ive had in GT2, I would almost prefer that.

/me keeping well clear of the bait.
I do not intend to return to league or event organisation in sim racing. I am no longer chasing my agent and do not expect anything to occur.
I log on to an LFS server sometimes to watch a race if I fancy it but i've not driven since some time last year - I havn't even tried the Y patch. If I did return to sim racing to compete I doubt I would compete in LFS. The sim is still fantastic but the history I have with it is uncomfortable.
I've had health issues that I think are well known here anyway, and I have other interests in life now, i'm just not prepared to make the substantial time commitment necessary to run a league and produce more broadcasts.

Shitty.
So then, does the CTRA under the UKCT want to revive the STCC in the same format(unless suggested otherwise) but ax the broadcasts?
Im not a platinum driver yet but Id be willing to assist anyway I could. :thumb:

Kinda, when UKCT was asked to take on the project Joe didn't have any of the fancy tools he has for video making. I haven't worked with them or even touched them, but they look pretty good =)
UKCT doesn't have the time, or the current desire to replicate the STCC, I don't know if we ever will. Eventually I would like to get something running with TBO's and some advanced league features, but that is a long ways off while we are developing X2 into a reality, but I don't think we will ever replace the STCC exactly. Personally I am working on my management degree ATM and with Aimee pregnant my time is limited but we are getting there =)
Becky you put your heart and soul into the STCC series, and it shows with every production, I sincerely enjoyed racing in the series and it was a pleasure to get to know you through the series. This is belated Becky and I am sorry, but I wanted to give you my thanks on here =) I throughly enjoyed the series, and believe it or not it put 'me' back on track in my life, thank you =)

I'd like to reinforce what Chris said. The structure of the STCC and the camaraderie among the drivers, the meticulous attention to detail regarding the integration and interpretation of real-life rules and regulations in the simulation, and the absolutely phenomenal standards-setting broadcast videos, make the STCC league easily the most formative era in my simracing involvement and are some of my best memories. :)

Sorry, sim racing just isnt important to me right now. I'm not saying i'll never race again or that I wont commentate on some racing or something like that, but making each broadcast is a huge undertaking and i'm just not prepared to put the time into it.
I'd rather focus on things that are more important to my life now, like getting healthy again so I can return to work, my relationship with my partner who I adore, and a new home.
Hobbies and old interests are very much on the back seat these days, though I do plan to come to the UK LFS meet this year and i'll be racing too (and hoping not to make a big fool of myself).

Yes maam, I moved to the colonies after selling one of our majesty's companies to the capitalists over here. I do my best to ensure these unwashed hippies (in San Francisco anyway) adhere to the Queens best.

Lends a more dramatic tone, via the slight pause, to your final phrase. :D
