View Full Version : Kyoto 500 Sign Ups and Entry Requirements
J@tko
25th March 2008, 12:31
Please sign up in here for the inaugural Kyoto 500.
Qualifying will be held on the 21 and 22 June 2008. Check the official Qualifying Thread for information
The Race will be held on the 28 June 2008, at around 6pm BST.
Entry Requirements:
At least 300 online laps (of FO8/KY1(r)).
An LFSW uploaded hotlap of less than 38 seconds (if you can't do that after 300 laps then you shouldn't be competing!).
Attendance for at least 2 of the Kyoto 500 practice evenings/days held in May and June.
A friendly attitude.
Respect for other racers, admins and the rules.
All of the above must be attained by 21st June.
Please post your entry in the below format - all on one line please.
Your number / Your real name (will be your in-game name) / Nationality / *in brackets*LFSUsername*close brackets*
e.g. 21 / Joe Bloggs / England / (Bloggsie)
Any number between 1 and 999 is permitted. A number such as 005 is also permitted.
Your skin must have your number on the nose, sidepods and sides of rear wing.
N.B If you have already entered the LFSCART series, then you will be entered for this automatically, however, your place is not guaranteed. You will join in with everyone else in the qualifying sessions. Just like everybody else, you will only have a place in the race if you qualify in the top 30 drivers.
I have removed the list from here to prevent conflicts. The PDF file is the OFFICIAL list. If your name is still on it and you have withdrawn, please contact me (dekojester) via PM.

500 laps seems like alot for a race that is only 270 laps. its pretty easy to set a sub 40 second lap aswell. (just did a 37 sec, and its only my 30th time around the oval in F08)

I set a low 37 in my first 5 laps -_-.
40 is wayyyy too far I'd suggest a 38 seeing as you don't even need to lift in this car.
Other then that, the laps do seem like a lot but look at all the time we have... O_O!

I agree we cant have guys that are 3 secs slower then people, then lapped traffic is an issue. :schwitz:

During testing in the next month, I will determine the slowest allowable speed. This will be the speed that you will have to be maintain or be sacked from the race. I'll give you one shot to pick it up, after that, done.

To all potential sign ups:
Please don't think that this race is going to be just for those aliens who set near WR times every lap. It's open to everyone. Provided that you have the right mentality and are a clean racer, then you can still enter. The entry requirement of 500 laps can be attained by merely doing 6-7 laps every day until quali day. So, even if you're new to oval racing - come and join us - you'll learn alot from the pros.
If you want to start practicing from scratch, then i recommend this:
Take the attached setup, and add a couple of degrees of wing. Drive some laps to get used to the car, and then slowly lower the wing 1 deg at a time until you reach its present state again. Once you have mastered this, then start adjusting the other settings to gain a faster time.
Good luck :thumb:

The sidepods are the bits that stick out of the side of single seaters, and house the radiators.

We can volunteer a reserve safety car driver for you, if needed from the FRO Admins for rounds your competing in.
Back up experienced admins if needed from our crew are available to help at anytime.
A pleasure, again thanks for the organisation and we will do what we can to support your effort.
FRO will have another dedicated S2 server live in a couple days which will be set to F08 and the 'LFSCART' road courses and rules for series practise, I will pm you the passwords so you can admin the server and/or sessions when your around Tfalke.

Hoi Players,
I put provisional by it just in case you did not get me when chatting on the FRO server. Gets a bit hectic in there sometimes.
Server sign up's will always be listed as provisional until registered or confirmed with FALKE the series organiser, here or in person with him on one of the servers.
Excellent to see you confirmed your entry, it has all the makings of a really great race series!
See you soon, hopefully on Sunday next when we will have some practise 25minute races with qualifying and a rolling start with compulsory pit stop running from 6pm - 8pm GMT on the Formula Racing Oval server.
FRO #2 server will be public from tomorrow running LFSCART/FO8 on the series road courses.

Have you already made a skin for players?
Because the other person who has No. 11 is being difficult and doesn't want to change it. If you have already made Players a skin I will have to force the other person to change it, or to come to some agreement with you.

Hi Guys,
Players is not a member of team FRO (although is welcome, hope he knows that )
Players is entering the LFSCART series as well as the Kyoto500. LFS CART rule book, says..no number #1 in the first year of series.
Personally i agree with that rule, no #1 until end of year.
FRO #2 server will be public from tomorrow running LFSCART/FO8 on the series road courses.
FRO | LFSCART server is now live and will be running LFSCART series road course tracks alternating through to 1 week prior to each event when it will be solely set for practise for each event.
TFalke55, JO53PHS & J@tko - I will get admin details to you later today for this server, so you can admin sessions when around.

I'm afraid this isn't possible. Since we have 40+ racers entering, qualifying will decide who gets to compete in the race.
There is a very small chance that there will be 29 or less qualifyers, in which case, you will be allowed a place at the back.
I will add you onto the list as a possibility, but if you don't turn up at qualifying your chance of being able to compete is almost non existent.

Hi,
Is it possible to join the race without entering the qualify session and start from last possition? The weekend of 22 june is F1 GP in France and I'm there the whole weekend. The rest of the demands is no problem. And to participate the qualif sessions is not listed in things to complete before entering, so I think it is no problem. Hey, someone has to start from the last possition:schwitz:
So add me to the list om racers :

As long as you try an attend an official practice session in the weeks before, which I will announce times, then you are eligible.
But those who take times in qualifying will get precedence over those who post no times.
As JO53PHS said.

The server we use for the event will be provided by Storm Servers. They are going to give us a server as sponsorship for the event.
In return, all we have to do is stick a storm servers logo on everything, everywhere. :D A Kyoto 500 .dds advert pack will be released in the near future :tilt:

i'm with you, I cannot understand it... but here we do not use Stock Cars, it is more like Indy Cars ;) , using the FO8
but maybe American Motorsport in general , e.g. IndyCar Series
A.J. Foyt IV - Vision Racing - #2
Justin Wilson - Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing - #02
Ryan Briscoe - Team Penske - #6
Graham Rahal - Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing - #06
I think it could have something to do with the ChampCar-IndyCar merger in this very special case. In some entry lists Wilson and Rahal are listed under #102 and #106. Maybe the three digit one is the official case and the two digit one is just to fullfill somekind of size.
Personally I don't like this, and I hope you from NDR are aware, that these 0x numbers are forbidden in LFSCART. I just listed them with a 0, to get a tidy look into my list

In American racing, be it dirt track ovals (Outlaws or stock F1 as the UK knows it), stock car (NASCAR, ARCA) or Indy, the number is a representation of you.
You basically stick to one number and that number does more than identify you. That number becomes you. It becomes a symbol for you. Such as Earnhardt's #3. Dale will always be known as the 3 and current sprint cup drivers do not use that number out of respect. This is the main reason for all that fuss when Dale Jr. changed his number. So many ppl had to get re-tattoos because of that
Sometimes a number can represent a team. Woods Brothers team is always 21 and will always be that way no matter what driver comes over. Usually people do not switch numbers and they usually only do so when they change to a new team. And of course there are exceptions in which, some drivers/teams dont stick with a number or dont care what number represents them. But a lot do and it's become a tradition in American racing to have it as a symbol of you or your team
In European racing number is not given that much importance especially in high caliber leagues like F1.

The practice sessions are held in secrecy and in the most inconvinient times :D I was under the impression that there will be one next weekend so you might wanna check out this forum on friday/saturday/sunday. There is supposed to be a seperate (new) thread for each practise session and someone'll put it in the race calendar as well.
And no, in the rules there are no whatsoever regulations conserning car skins. Be prepared, though, to make modifications to your skin afterwards because Jack probably just forgot to put skin regulations in the rule book

Yes, there will probably be a test session this weekend, in the evening sometime. Deko will decide when.
On skins, there are no restrictions as long as you number is on the sides of your rear wings, on top of the side-pods and on the nose.
This is written somewhere, but i will ensure it is added to the rules.
