Buy the S2 license. You don't get 'cop cars' but you can download Sirens and police skins etc :)

No cop cars and no buying stuff in this game, I fear. Maybe it was just someone using a car skin (texture) that looked like a cop car? Maybe a link to the video would clear things up :)

This is a racing simulator - police vehicles are not part of the game. It's possible to create a car skin so that it looks similar to a police car, but that's about it. You might want to try the Need For Speed series.
Edit... what they said ^^^ .. you guys must type faster than me..

The first video is ancient.
Anyway, that's just police skins and a custom horn sound, with some people folloming some rules. It's nothing that is natively in LFS.

Is it this guy again that comes on the forum every 3 or 3 months asking a harmless question in the first posts and then starts doubling the amount of swear words and insults with every post until he gets banned? :D

Regardless, you're simply in breach of our forum's rules. Either sort it out or we'll help you out.
1) When I post a message on this forum, I will do my very best to write in a polite manner and not use foul language and / or insult an individual or group of people.
You've simply failed to keep to the agreement, despite agreeing to it. Sort it out and grow up a bit more.

Guy, LFS is a racing simulator, other things can be done with it but if you're looking to buy it for the reasons you've stated then you really are not looking for LFS at all, you want a totally different game.
And if you are the guy who comes here every once in a while and starts of topics in a normal way then goes totally mental all of a sudden then

I thought mods were meant to lock threads like this, not participate in them. Or, at least, participate in them a little bit and then lock them, so as to have the last word :D

Truth is, all day I've been on the verge of banning Jewell, locking the thread, editing his "lick my" line to "I'm a transvestite from Doncaster and my name is Derek" and stickying the thread

It's the sheer arrogance and stupidity that annoys me. He sees a quick video on youtube and then posts a question straight away that he expects a coherent, polite reply too, despite the fact he has done nothing at all to merit any generosity from any of the LFS community.
If he was genuinely interested, he would have at least done a bit of research on this forum first which would have answered all his questions.
The "must have it now" generation is gonna meet its own end when this generation gets tired of giving and never receiving.
rant over :)

I didn't have a problem with his question and we answered his question within minutes after he posted. I wasn't exactly expecting his odd reply. Perhaps he took my Need For Speed advice as an insult? :) I thought I was being helpful. I don't know too many other car games with police.. but then again I don't play console games.

Jewell: You asked for help. The others explained the situation, and that there's actually no such thing as a police mod. As a reward for their help, you tell them to lick your balls.
That's not very polite, is it?

I'm not excusing him, but they weren't very polite either. As for the question on the 1st post, you can find these "cops" which aren't more than regular cars with sirens and police painting, on cruise servers, which try to simulate a city and all its containings (in terms of driving matter).

best thread i've read in ages and for what its worth im 44 and think jewell's reply was priceless.:thumb:
so what if he speaks or types a rather different form of english than what some of us were brought up with ? and i'm sure that "lick my balls" isn't particularly offensive with his age group, its just differing values, to my grandparents gay meant happy, to my generation it meant homosexual to my step daughter it means somethings sad so you can imagine the confusion that could result if her great grandparents were alive and discussing a film with her and me and described it as being very gay !!

..which is fine, Jewell, as long as you remember that this is an international forum. You clearly know the cultural differences exist, so there's absolutely no excuse if anything you say is offensive to others. You have to make an effort to be acceptable. Slacking, being offensive, and blaming issues on other people being different from you would be doubly disrespectful.

Whey another example of how a straightforward question gets vaguely answered then (some members of) the LFS community essentially put off a potential customer. Good work team.
I for one found lick my balls funny, hell just because it's a forum doesn't mean it's any more sheltered than 'real life', I believe the age limit of 13 is there for that reason. If you feel offended by it, maybe I duno... get the hell over it?
I honestly think that if a potential customer takes a look at this forum before making a decision, they are more likely to not bother. Call it a 'tight-knitted' community, call it fanboyism or whatever you will, I've never seen a forum with such hostility. I guess it comes from the nature of the subject (online gaming) and the age group of the users, however it's most immature.

Read posts #2, 3, 5 and 8. That's all there is to be said about the topic IMO. Not vaguely answered.
He then decides to make a post that is uncalled for.

LfS forums are not that hostile.
Try a crooze or "tuning" forum.
On the other hand. Do we really want a person to join the S2 ranks who tells other people to lick his balls?

If you want to differentiate yourself from chavism then maybe you should use capital letters where they are due.
