i was falsely suduced by this game. i downloaded the demo and i loved it. I would use the XFG and would love racing with it...it would feel so pure for a front wheel racer. I get in a XR, different story...car slips and slides everywhere..i manage to race it nicely but its still WAAAYY to slippery..one slight turn on my keyboard will launch this car into a sucidial spin. The XRT? 2x worse than the XRT non-turbo. This car has like absolutely ZERO grip..i feel like i am driving on ice.
so i am at my friends house we is also very interested in the game...we bought it s2 together thinking that the XRTs were just drift cars. To out extreme disappointment all the RWD cars drive like this! with zero to no grip at all!!!!
its a damn shame because i really loved the demo. I have to slow down to 30mph just to take a turn without the car haing a sezuire.
now i come to u people as my last resort. WTF do i do now? i dont feel like i can race any of these cars hard or else ill be 6 feet undah next to johnny cockran.
the FWD cars however drive very nice..but thats only like 3-4 cars.
i cant race like this..it appears as if the developers made the RWD cars broken. If theres no fix for this i want my money back.
HELP!!!!!!!!11

Post a replay of you driving, and we can see what is going on. The game feels pretty good for RWD cars... maybe a tad slippy, but it isn't so bad that you have to slow down to 30 mph :zombie:

The current BL1 WR sets for both the XRG & XRT are actually very stable, not to mention the SO ones even though being a city track you can lean on the throttle.. It really is down to the setup and controller (properly set up wheel). They are driveable with mouse too, keyb, dunno. Suggest you poke around for those sets and try doing away with the keyb.

wheel huh? was kinda worried u guys would say that....i cant do a wheel..is this game completely unplayable without one? if only it was just like the demo...why did they have to screw up the RWD cars..the game wouldve been perfect.

The game is playable with mouse still, but for the powerful cars, accelerating and braking is not easy. But mouse is in WAY more control than the keyboard.
But a wheel is 10x better, and highly recommended. You'd be in full control there.

I agree, get a wheel. You can get a Microsoft FF wheel for under $30. Besides, try driving a real-life RWD car with only digital inputs and tell me how crappy it is. :)

Well, they didn't screw the RWD.. U just have to use a wheel, like in real life.. Try driving real life RWD car with a keyboard(ask Mythbusters to set one for you :)), and try to push it around the track.. With keyboard all you have is "ON" - "OFF" for the gas/brake/steering, there is no middle, so you should be greatfull keyboard and mouse are even suported, unlike Netkar for example..

add more front anti roll and take away rear anti roll bar. or do a search for an easy to drive setup. keyboard is not the way the game was intended though.

I understand your frustration, I'm using a playstation controller, and no matter what I click about with, I seem unable to get LFS to realise that it has two analogue sticks, so I'm left with using buttons for throttle and brake.
I suggest you do what I have...have a play with the set ups, reducing anti roll, tyre pressures, wheel camber etc until the car becomes a little more stable. If you pump up the final drive ratio, you'll lose acceleration, but end up with a car that's easier to drive in low gear. I used to play LFSS1 with the keyboard, and it's just about possible, although it's less than ideal and as everyone keeps telling you this game wants you to have a wheel.
The RWD cars aren't "broken" it's just that this is a "sim" not an "arcade" racer and in the real world you car controls offer you degrees of control...they're not just switches, so LFS attempts to emulate that fact.
