I downloaded and installed the latest drivers, dated 11 December, 2005 (or there-abouts).

I do NOT recommend this update. Stick with the version released on 8/30/2005. At least if you have the X700 card or something similar.

I got a decrease in frame rate by about 30FPS, with all the same settings set. No matter what setting I used in the driver, LFS would NOT go above 42 FPS, unless I looked to the left. Then it would go up over 100. This is the same issue I had fought with my old X300 card (crappy, I know). I have the X700 now and it has been working fine with the drivers I mentioned above. The new drivers messed up the frame rate again. I did the full Catalyst install this time. I thought that the Catalyst interface may have something to do with it, plus it was annoying. I uninstalled Catalyst, but that did not help. As soon as I rolled back the driver, my frame rate came right back up.

Try the Omega drivers then. Works like a charm.

Hmm, I have no idea what version or how old or new my drivers are. Why can't they just list them as a, b, c or 1, 2, 3 etc. In the system properties it lists them as 4.14.01.9150. So can anyone tell me how old or new these drivers are? They confuse me so much because I only have an old pci slot 9250 256 mb on a win98sE machine. When I installed it, like the first 10 times I tried to install drivers it kept telling me they didn't support this card. Even the stinkin CD that came with it! The one I have installed finally worked like the 4th time I tried the same install file. Gets a little crazy with gfx card drivers in my opinion. I've never had a gfx card until recently, I've always had onboard.

I think the most recent are 5.11 catalyst, you can get them at www.ati.com (http://www.ati.com) . You need to install netframe first (if you dont have it allready).

I use 5.11 and i am not that satisfide!

Are the omega drivers compatibel with ATI control panel?

5.12 and 5.13 doesn't work with LFS. You get 15-20 fps with those. Instead install 5.11 version until ATI fixes this problem.

Is it possible to control AA/AF with omega?
Yes. It uses the same control panel.
