We definatly need a longer drag strip..

Iam sick of hitting the wall at 500+ kmh just because there's not enough room to brake :(

How long is the drag strip? Is it 1/4?

Probably 1/4, but there is quite a long 'braking' area, so about 1/2 in total maybe?

Well, I should haved choosed another smilie :D

From what I can see there are 2 drag strips - both of the same length.
What's the point of that?

Even without 'cheating' (Iam racing offline online) some races are so close that a longer distance would be much more fun :)

LFS is NOT meant for DRAGGING

Er. Why not? Its about as interesting as the Oval, but its a perfectly valid race-style. Its all about control to start with.

Ok, your right, but if he/she already has 500 km/h, then I think that he/she is not learning to control the car anymore.

and, WHY should LFS itself be changed because of Mechanic? Mechanic is not a part of LFS.

Ah... But do you want a bigger braking area, or do you want a longer strip to the finish?

I don't see the need for a bigger braking area, because it's long enough... But I can see a use for a longer drag.

The braking area is HUGE. A longer drag would be better, no reason not too ;)

P.S Am i the only one who finds it odd that the GTR cars and the FO8 run 10's on the drag, yet a XRT runs 13s?

Think the issues come from the low speed tire bugs.

What about reading..? :thumb:

Even WITHOUT cheating some races are close enough..
WITHOUT cheating means WITHOUT the use of third-party software.

TagForce: A longer strip to finish but that also means a bigger breaking area ;)

What is the standard drag strip outside of the US since we're pretty much the only ones who us miles? 1/4 mile drag is the standard here so that is what should be in LFS if that is standard worldwide. I would like to know if LFS is 1/4 mile or something different as I'm playing around with Racer now as well and would like to compare times there with LFS cars and the drag here.

I agree, LFS shouldn't have to change because you are using a "cheat" like Mechanik. Mechanik isn't an official addon from the developers.

I think a 1/4 mile drag strip is pretty much THE standard anywhere.
Of course, there are the standing mile (or kilometer), but when you
hear about drag racing, you usually picture a 1/4 mile strip.

What you want is a salt lake ! ;)

What you want is a salt lake ! ;)

Or an old airstrip with a few long runways and some taxi-roads just think of the possibilities :D

Yes. But without the actual lake... So a former salt lake ;)

Actually that's a GREAT idea... Just a HUGE slab of white asphalt to mimic salt, 4 objects on each side for boundaries, and 65532 placeable objects for Autocross heaven! (first one to use all the objects in a functional manner wins a free S3 voucher)

well to be honest i'd like to see what happens at big speeds like 350+ or the speed of sound.
cause as i'm guessing right, noone of the delinquents here ever travelled that fast on ground, but a little few humans actualy did.
i'ts just to temper my curiosity.
or to go reaaally fast for a change, for the small narrow tracks, or the simulated feel of freedom :)

then why dont we just get one of those top speed test tracks like in GT3 and GT4?
heck.. we might even be able to do that same bug like in GT3 with the escudo :p and make it go 600 some miles an hour :D

micha1980de

was that achieved un/cheated?

no it.. anyone can do it lol i dont remember what all you had to do, all i can remember is you had to have full downforce in the rear, none in the front, and hard suspension in the front with high rebound .. but i cant remember.. have to google it
..was more of a 'flaw' than a cheat ;)

Use Mecanik to bump the FO8 over something like 5K HP. Then, use a high redline, AWD, full downforce, tires flat, and have a go at the oval. You'll hit the speed limiter (~450 mph) in no time. Great fun, and you'll bend the suspension in the meantime with over 4gs around the bends. :thumb:
