I know roughly what it must feel like for you and her family, so I wish her the best of luck in her recovery.
There is NO excuse for drink driving. Ever. Without exception.

Man, that's such a shame. God bless to her that she pulls through ok. Recently this happened to a close coworker of mine (we're the only two in the department). On his way to work, a drunk hit him head on at 5:30 in the morning. What was bad is he saw the guy coming and pulled off and stopped on his side of the road. The guy hit him head on and I believe is still in a coma. It's been 2 months now and my buddy is hoping to be back to work after the holidays. He got lucky. I hope that your friend comes out the same as mine.

bad thing is, drunken drivers don't get punished enough, especially if they are involved in an accident :(
hope she recovers quickly

Its sad these things happen. My very good friend was hit by a drunk, when he was passing the street (with green light ofcours). He died.

This is horrible to hear. This christmas has been a bit odd, with the TWU (transit workers union) on strike. Theirs no busses, subways, taxis etc. Theirs traffic everywhere, and no ones been able to go out for christmas shopping etc. Best wishes for your friend :(

Good luck on a fast recovery for her. A friend of mine was hit head on by a drunk driver last wednesday and was in intensive care for 3 days but is now on the fast road to recovery. The drunk came out unhurt but due to the laws where he is the drunk wil lgo away for life as this is his 3rd Drink / Drive offence with no liscence or insurence either.... THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR DRINK DRIVING!!!
Good luck to her.

Oof. That's...heavy sh*t.
Well...all I can do is wish her and her family all the best..most of all, that she will recover quickly.
But..the petition has been over the deadline for almost three months, hasn't it?
