ARGH!
only thing to say is: ARGH!
rolled it 2 times, loosing my great 6th start position, 2nd time roll was coz of a false placed/timed overtaking try. dunno how i managed to try to overtake there.
btw im in round 5 again, right?

Horrible race...
Someone made hyntty spin in front of me, I hit him then someone hit me again and went flying in the sand.. got stuck.. lap 5.. DNF...
Hyntty is now in the lead in championship cuz I didnt finish.. Grats.
This has been second race in a row that has been a big mess.. Hopefully next one wont be as much.

Coulda been a great race... but Fern Bay is horrible.

Well, apart from the SC laps & the race ending prematurely, it wasn't bad for me.
Marlbro made a crazy pass on the 1st SC start, got me on the chicane thing...nuts! Ballsy move, total bravery! Got him back though when he went a bit wide a few laps later, I had to go for it...so good job Marlbro, shame you rolled it though :( Mr. T done poorly in Qualy & had a disappointing race too, among many others...bad luck guys.

I was in an incident I'd like investigated:
Lap 11 - On the back straight, after T7 (I think), I was spun by McColl99, who was behind me. He didn't even slow down to allow me to catch up and re-take my place (as is laid out in the CRC), and didn't apologise...I understand that he was faster than me, but I still had the inside line in the previous corner, so the spin was completley unjustified...
I only dropped one place, but it was still highly unfair...
Yeah, sorry about that, i didn't apologise because of the no in race chat thing. From my point of view you were on the grass through the right kink and then shot out in front of me leaving me with nowhere to go? this also happened on lap 9 but i had time to brake for that one...
As for lap one with jack, dean was a little slower so i went to the outside of him, got squeezed for room and started my braking on the outside kerb sending the car left and into your path, so again apologies but i didn't say anything mid race because of the chat ban.

I saw that dean was slow on the exit of that fast left corner, and I did the rather stupid thing of making it 3 wide and then squeezing Dean out. Partly my fault - sorry!

Anyways I dont want this to go any further.. Itll end up in a big fight that I really dont want to be involved in.
There was mistakes made too bad.. the race is over cant change anything about it now.
Its all up to race marshalls to decide about sanctions.

To avoid this kind of carnage in future (I'm dreading the full GTRs) maybe all future races should have intake restrictions...after all it is a BEGINNERS cup...

Incidentally, so you all know my reason for red-flagging the end of the race as opposed to SCing it, was because the race would have ended under SC anyway, and I decided to end it then so as to not risk any more chaos or other penalty-inducing events.

So, right now, hynTTy, Taylor-Mania, and kABLiuks are within one race position of each other. Bonus points will be critical for these, also.
I would not discount you yet if you are within about 45-50 points of 1st. There are still 5 rounds left, and you never know what will happen. It ain't over yet by a long shot.

Firstly, from the Penalties & Results thread...
...The start of the entire episode, when HynTTy, TAYLOR-MANIA, and JO53PHS got together is a racing incident.
How was that a racing incident? It was plain stupidity!

Hell no! We did have intake restrictions & yet there were still some crashes!

Okay Dekojester, can I just say that I think you're somewhat irregular with the Safety Car decisions. Let me elaborate further...
The first SC for Hammond was fine I think, because I think there were drivers approaching that area. But the 2nd SC just wasn't really needed as the driver it was brought out for spectated or pitted before the SC was even out on track....no danger, no SC? Then it was out for an extra lap too for no reason atall, & please don't say because not everyone was behind it - tough, it wasn't needed anyway!
But what puzzles me the most it that there were a few others who rolled it too, such as Math1js @ the same place as Hammond did, but he was allowed to Telepit...as were many others allowed to do so but yet for others it was deemed necessary for the SC to come out & rob us of more racing laps. You've got to be more consistent with the SC decisions.
And as for the race being stopped early... BOO! :thumbsdow
Marlbro rolled it on the racing line, he ASKED TO TELEPIT (again, as did others & were allowed to do so), but you stopped the race 2 laps early! WHY?! Just let him pit so we can race damn it!
And well, as for the chatting after the race when all but 3 cars were in the pitlane (1 on it's roof), that's just BS if you ask me.
Dekojester was typing away with unimportant messages as though it was allowed!
Cpt. Slow: crap race
Deko: This we know
If it's not allowed at that point then please don't reply to such comments! It gives the impression that chatting is permitted.
Sorry for the rant, I hate Monday mornings! :D

I think there's 2 things to say here, one is that deko and Jack are new to this, learning as they go and making some inevitible mistakes as they go. As long as they're learning from them, there's nothing wrong with that, and so we shouldn't criticise. Theyre doing it for nothing, for our benefit.
Secondly, to respond to your comment, yes, deko does seem a bit safety-car-happy, as it were. I didn't think it was necessary in this round. Maybe something to look at. :thumb:

Suggestion= To avoid many SC laps in next races= So, if for example some one rolls over,or has damaged suspension so hard that cant move, and is on the grass,or even on the road(coz Yellow flag will be ON), let him stay were he is.Lets imagine that there is a rescue crew wich should be able to pull the car out of the track lets say in a minute,meaning-dont call sefety car, just after one minute let that guy telepit, and after another minute he can return to race from pits. But if a racer is traped in sand,or some how stucked, than call Resque car (wich sould be with sand-ready setup and 4x4), call safety car,and do all procedures. so by alowing more telepits, will eliminate half-race SC.
If guy is dead, let him telepit; If guy needs just single push out of trouble-lets call SC & RC.

Yeah I fully understand that they're as new to running a league as we are competing in one. And they are putting alot of effort in & doing a sound job so far. But we should criticise & I will criticise!
There's no other way to let them know what we think is wrong & needs changing...it's nothing negative atall, quite the opposite.
I just don't understand why some cars are accepted to be pitted and why others are not & worthy of a SC or even a race stoppage. Either bring out the Safety Car for all such incidents or just let them all pit. I'd rather it be the latter.
I understand you're aiming for realism & trying to mimic real world situations...but for most rounds there's probably gonna be a safety car incident or two, I'm just not sure if it's the right thing to do for a Beginners Cup. If a safety car is needed, it's more than likely going to mean that that car is rendered undrivable & DNFed. So what's the point in spoiling the race for the rest of the field if that car is no longer in the race? Just pit it.
TomMK
18th February 2008, 14:11
I just don't understand why some cars are accepted to be pitted and why others are not & worthy of a SC or even a race stoppage.
The rulebook states that the Safety Car may be deployed after "an incident", which is ambiguous. So I think it would be good to come up with a nice clear definition of what constitutes an incident worthy of a safety car. Off the top of my head I'd say it should be something like "A car that has come to rest on or near the racing line that is unable to move". So a car bins it in a dangerous position, informs RC, RC decides its an incident, deploys SC, allows a telepit, removes SC. If deko decides the SC is not needed, he allows the telepit to happen and keeps the race going.
TAYLOR-MANIA
18th February 2008, 15:47
I agree. I'm sorry to keep banging on about this but I feel we see too much of the SC.
For instance...Stefan (sorry I forget the proper name) had rolled it on T7(?), the fast right hander. It wasn't on the racing line. It wasn't on the track. So don't dispatch the SC for that! Just leave it out there for a while if you wish to replicate the time for it be removed, & let the racing continue!
If players overtake at that point under the yellow flag then you can do your job there...
I mean it's on the roof, it's going to have to telepit & therefor is DNFed. Pointless SC laps & wasted racing laps.
...If deko decides the SC is not needed, he allows the telepit to happen and keeps the race going.
And he [dekojester] must not deviate from what constitutes the need for a SC and what doesn't. I know it's probably quite challenging being the Race Director & making on-the-spot decisions liek you have to...but when someone flips it in the same place as someone else, & one gets a SC & one doesn't...well, it's just a little odd
Anyway, I'll leave it here now.
