The Head-to-Head Racing is a very unique type of racing that is described here: Head-to-Head Racing Series (http://www.d4c.storm-servers.net/h2h/about.html). Read the about page for the basic information, and the rules page for the specifics. There are five events in this series, and at the end of the series we will add up all the points that the players had earned during the series to find the final champion.

Yes it is needed, because it saves me the time of looking through all the posts to find the user name of someone who signed up. And it is always the same which is why I need it so I can write PM's for reminders and stuff. It is almost the most important piece of information, although the series will be displaying the results based on names. The country isn't the most useful thing although I would just like to know because it may turn out to be useful and its better to ask now than try getting people to do it later.

There will be, once the website launches and the official rules and things go up I think people will be more interested. Right now they are wondering what its about. Each event in the series needs to have at least 16 people show up. And if more show up only the top 16 qualifiers will play. There are still a couple weeks so we still have some time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

My sister is getting married on the weekend of the original first race day. Sin I may end up taking a trip for it then the scheduling of the series will change. ALL dates will stay the same, and the races will happen in the same order. The difference is that Event 1 will start on the date of Event 2, Event 2 moved to Event 3 and so on. An extra day was added in May for the last Event. I am sorry about these changes, but I didn't get the news all that early.

DISCLAIMER:

I want to make it clear that I will only be running the series if I can get the Head-to-Head System to automate the process. This is due to many complaints in the past two events that it takes too muck time for the races to be setup manually. I am planning on having this finished before the first event in the series, but if my AFK life stays as hectic as its been this week and next week then it may be hard.

The Head-to-Head Series will happen as soon as that automation system is made and ready to go. But it will be pushed back until it is needed. I am hoping to have 32 people in each event, the events will always be on Saturdays, 19:00gmt so if you can make that time then sign up!

I just sent reminders out to all the people signed up so far, and will keep you guys up to date. Currently I am trying to get the automated system up and running and once that is running the dates will be set in stone; I will give you my word that I am going to try my best to balance real life things with the programming of the automated system in order to *hopefully* get this finished by the first event date (March 29th).

There may be a rule change when the automated system comes out, I may not allow talking at ANY time during the event. This is to limit confusion of when it is safe to talk vs when it is not safe to talk. This is not fully thought about but the automated system should keep things moving along rather than having time between each race. There will be plenty of time before and after the events to talk about the outcome, there has also been a Ventrilo server running and talking on there is perfectly fine. Again this rule is not finalized yet.

With only a week left to go before the first event in the series I am taking this time to announce the point system since its a series and not just events anymore.

The basic idea of this system is to allow the consistently good drivers to be able to win the event overall, but still allowing the winners to gain additional points for their victory in an event. So for showing up for an event you will be rewarded with 1 point. For qualifying in the top racers and making it into round 1 you will get a point. A point will be awarded for every match that you win, (or every round that you make it passed). The winner of the event gets two points for the win. Additional points will be awarded to the player with the best qualifying time, and another point for the best lap of the event, (not including qualifying times).

We will probably give recognition to the racers with some outstanding stats at the end of the series, these may or may not add additional bonus points to the drivers. I want to keep the points as close as possible when it comes to the champion of the series.

1pt - Showing to the Event
1pt - Qualifying for Round 1
1pt - Advancing to Round 2, 3, Semi-Finals or Finals
2pts- Winning the Event
1pt - Best Qualifying Time

I started league racing just only over a year ago... I have to say I've been lucky thus far to have such a great team around me and I think it has helped me become a more successful racer. Over the period of about the last 6 months I have really started to understand the balance of racing cars more and I find I'm getting faster and faster every month. Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know that there will be a testing session this weekend that you can use as some practice. It will NOT be mandatory, and the positions will not give you points for the championship. It will be used as some thorough testing for the H2H system. I am making the qualifying automated as well and that will need the testing, and we had some minor bugs although they were caused by human error for the most part. I need to get the system more bullet proof and I hope this weekend can be a good time to test and allow you guys to practice.

20 minute qualify and all normal rules apply. I will start a pre-race discussion for event 2 soon so we can talk about our times during practice!

Hello, I know that I'm not in the series... I still have another event in this time :(. But I have a question. Example: Driver A & B. A in front, B in back. 1st run: B will pass A... He will automatically win. Why? The driver A has still a chance in run 2. He can pass driver B too. Hmm?

For multiple reasons; Some matches are not as close, such as the first round where its best driver vs worst driver. Watching that race twice wouldn't be fun, so the worst driver starts first, and generally gets passed unless they have a really good run. (This is also a good reason to qualify as well as you can, gives you better odds at passing through round 1). Secondly it offers a better reason for the person behind to make the pass, otherwise they wouldn't risk it and just stay as close as possible. And the best reason, it adds IMMENSE pressure to the race. There is nothing like starting first and knowing that all could be lost if the guy behind you makes a move, and when they do your adrenaline is pumping and its very exciting...

There are a few exceptions, if Driver B was to pass Driver A during contact, then the Pass to Win is canceled and will go onto the second race of the match. The other exception is the final races, which there are 4 races in the final match and it is done only by the combined time. Always interesting. I hope that answers your question!

Yep - thats ok then.

I'll be at the LFSCART test race until about 7.45, then go to the H2H for some last-minute practice :)

EDIT: To all European Entrants - you're going to miss GB getting another 'nil points' at Eurovision whilst at H2H :( :D:D
