Hey all...this is a server game me and TVE came up with.

Rules are currently:
1 ai vs however many players

If the AI is stopped for 5s, players win

If the AI finishes the race, in any position, players lose

Once the AI finishes, or is stopped for 5s, race is restarted

No human can reset, or pit and rejoin the game

It can be played on just about any server.

Rules depend on server rules.

I like it. It's like a silly kind of demolition derby war race. Of course, people will be idiots and there's no way it will work without people getting pissed off at each other.

Tried it, it`s fun if everyone follow the rules and such. It`s not like, something usefull lol, but it`s a great and relaxing thing to do if you got some time .

I'm a bit of a noob, online anyways, been playing offline with default and race_S setups since S2 was released....Anyways, I'm not working and don't go back to school for quite a long time, and I just built a new computer, so I'd be happy to host for everyone. I think it's strong enough to host "with graphics" so I can play along.

If this sounds good for you guys, maybe you can tell me If my computer can host or not.

8600GT Overclocked Edition
And I guess most important: 10mbit download=logical 1.2mb/sec download
800kb/set up=logical about 90-96 kbps upload
Looking at the settings in the game for hosting it says I can safely host 16-18 players, at my max bandwidth it said 20 but I don't trust that.

Anyways I'd really like to host, is my machine capable?

i got a 13 slot server that is hosted by a proper company that i hardly use, if you want me to do it for a while im happy to

the only condition is that i don't change the current server name

"People will come for your original setup, and later remember my server and come on for racing sometime"

This reminds me of F355 Challenge on the Dreamcast. You used to be able to get to the front of the pack and then stop the second place car on the racing line. Then the rest of the field all used to be stopped by the car in front and you get a nice neat long line of cars all stationary on track lol.

Shouldnt be too hard to stop an AI. Wreck one hard enough and it just sits there :tilt:

There are some rules however, it`s immune the first 10 seconds, this means that it should be able surviving T1 one it`s own.
And a other thing, well it`s weakness is that if you park in front of it it just ..stands there. So it`s not actually allowed to just block it. It need to be so damaged that it canot move by itself. And trust me, it can withstands some beating. Yesterday we had a fun combination, the human players were able to chose between the TBO cars, while the AI was an GTR car, with 50% restriction, full tank and max weight added. It had a max speed on 214, so we was able to reach it, but due that the AI had slicks it was a hell of a job trying to get it to spin. But nova desided that the only way to stop it was to drive backwards, but that damn n00b ended up crashing everyone chasing the AI, because the AI allways managed to avoid him lol :razz:

I am not sure if this is possible, but are there scripts to disallow certain behavior? For example people always start way too early and don't give the AI time enough to get some room. Also people don't like to choose a color, maybe this can be automated. Also, is it possible to check whether or not an AI didn't move via a script? So if it didn't move for 5 seconds the other team won? Just asking, because it would make many things easier.. This is really a nice idea.

I connected to "Stop The AI" but the script doesn't seem to work.
No messages about the objectives, Teamcolors, minimal players per team...
Did i miss something?

Rules:
Objective - to protect your Queen but to attack your opponent's.
Teams - each team has three human drivers. In addition, each team will have an AI "Queen" which will be ran by the admin.
Procedure - the AIs will be lined up at the front, and the other members of their team behind their queen. Once the green lights go out, the queens may start. However, the human drivers cannot move until ten seconds have elapsed. If a human driver does their team will lose that round.

A team wins the round by causing the Queen of the other team to be immobile for five seconds. This is judged by an automatic programme or by an admin.
Banned tactics : Driving the wrong way around the track is banned, as is stopping for any period of time longer than five seconds. Cars that do either will be removed from the track for that round. Repeat offenders will be kicked and/or banned

Matches : As many rounds that can be fit in will be played in one period of ten minutes (unless specially extended). If the clock expires during a round the round will be permitted to finish.

Tiebreaking : if there is a tie after the final round of the regulation time, one overtime round will be attempted. If there is no winner in this another will be attempted.

Hehe, but seriously, take TBO class against an GTR class AI, with full fuel, weight, and max intake restriction, then it`s hard, but very fun :)
