You can take the "Beginner's Cup" part and put it on, I'd suggest. And maybe a small version of the LFS logo on the banner across the windscreen.

If the SC crashes, I deploy something quite red. Also Known as, in layperson terms, a Red Flag.

It's what I get for trying to save it while forgetting to let off the gas.

FRAPS dings about 15 FPS off my video, but to me it looks decent enough to pass.

Would not be easier to get someone with a good system to record the video with your camera angles etc then get you to do the editing? :schwitz:

I was seriously considering this last night. I will pick camera angle locations, and ask people to "shoot" from those spots for me, record the video, and get it to me somehow.

I am trying to think of efficient ways to transfer it. My thinking is either via FTP if someone has a several GB server with that much space available (I'm thinking this will take20-30 or so GB per race) that shooters can upload then I can download. Either that, or use Torrents to get it.

Thoughts are much welcome, either here or via PM.

The gif has alpha channel. The jpg has none.

I will be selecting and doing "Demo shots" of camera positions for the rounds and have them set up so people can prepare.

I just toke some parts of the qualification from yesterday...There wasnt ntohing more cool to film in qual coz it were bit hotlapping for all, no close racing and so on...And i forgot to save to real race replay i would make longer vid...Well there was things to film in real race.

Awsome stuff hyntty, watched the Round 8, was fun seeing how it was at the back. Last lap was pretty bad for mid :S So many fishtails, spinning, bumping, etc...

AND YOU FORGOT MY CRASH! It almost gave me a heart attack :P

Last lap in the final sector, I hit the wall, flew, landed, did a 360 and kept tryin to drive with the front pointing the right way, ended up drifting to the finish. xD

Do you guys think this youtube place is good enough? I tried veoh, but for some reason it's really laggy. I've never been able to watch anything properly there.

vimeo uses the latest version of flash which yields a better video but it requires a faster cpu. My laptop can't play the videos at all but my desktop has no problem with them.

edit... just noticed you said veoh :) Chances are it's probably the same issue.

I don't think it's very fair to demand a faster cpu than a amd 3500+... If i can make the videos, i should be able to watch them too.

Of cource if someone donated a server I could make the videos in stream format, and it would be easier to watch, but that's not really a solution at all

So, Saturday.

I load the race replay from round 1.

Load FRAPS.

Capture Camera 1. Take to final cut without converting via vdub or stuff like that. It works ! Video, audio, all that lot.

So I do the other 15 cameras, at 5 or so hours of work.

Take those AVIs into Final Cut. Good audio, NO video. Grrr.

I reckon it was in the change to half-size. Oh well.

But wait !

I downloaded tmpgenc (Tsunami Mpeg Encoder), and coverted them to an mpg.

Then, video, no audio.

Took the mpg into MPEG Streamclip, and exported it to a .dv file.

Viola ! Video AND audio !

So, in short, this means I've figured out the grunt work before I do the epic edit jobs for Round 1.

Sorry. I recorded it on my laptop, but the master volume is turned right down to 3/100 cos my headphones are really loud :(

I made a BC trailer/teaser thingy. I actually wanted to include more footage but my poor old Athlon 3700+ struggles recording LFS at 30 FPS (you'll probably see some scenes already that are on the brink of stuttering). The rendering & encoding is also a pain so that's all for the moment:

There's actually tons of interesting moments in those 7 races (the legendary crash in Race 1 in R4 for example :) ). As soon as I get my hands on an Core i7 and a cheap x58 mainboard I'll probably complete it. But it might be late December when I get that :/
