View Full Version : Teams?

A few people have commented that they'd like a team-system in the LFSBC. I did think of this, but didn't think that it'd really matter. So here's a poll to decide. Teams will be decided at the LFS Beginner's Cup January Get-Together.

P.S Teams would involve both of you having the same skin (w/different numbers), the same tag at the start of your name and a team's championship.

Also - please give your thoughts below!

I think it would bring some added camaraderie to the procedings. Sharing liveries may not prove popular though. I think it would be cool to bounce ideas off my team-mate about set up or driving styles in the garage, stuff like that.

Well, Team Mates should really have the same skin tho.

Yep. It's always easier to get the hang of it if there's someone with you.

Btw, would the teams also score points?

Yep. Teams also need a name - I may give points to the team with the best name.

BTW - When I say you can pick your team-mate, you probably don'k know anyone else - pick the one with the best name or something. Teams will be picked at the Get-together (but i bagsie JO53PHS - cos I can )

You know you could just create a series specific team for the LFSBC that way ur skins would be different from ur normal ones and everyones happy. But thats just a thought

NO TEAM ORDERS

If anyone is found to have used team orders and has any tie
to McLaren Mercedes F1 team, I will instantly asses you a $100 million fine, and exclude you from the 2008 and 2009 LFSBC Team Championship, and ban both drivers for both years, until a group decides that that's too severe and only excldes you from that championship and reverses the driver's suspension.

This does not apply if you are a Tifosi, or related to anyone who does not drive or care about Mclaren Mercedes.

But seriously, team orders are verboten. That includes, to me, creative pitstop strategies.

Clarify, please. Do you mean that for example car #1 can't be heavy on fuel and slow others down for the benefit of #2 or what?

If you want - I'll create an independants championship for those not in a team.

So there's 3 championships; Drivers, Teams and Independants.

The driver's championship is 4 everyone, the teams is for teams and the independants is for those not in a team.

You can do some strategy work for when someone'll pit (if necessary) and that sort of thing so as to not avoid pit stall stacking.

But personally, I do not classify someone heavy on fuel holding up the rest of the field so someone can get away. That's simply not racing. If he's that good, he should be able to hold everyone off.

I will refine this policy soon so it's exact.

No probs. I have a tendancy to come up with things that are too complicated!

The main championship (the drivers chapionship) is just like any other drivers championship (look @ F1, BTCC e.t.c). The points system is in the rules thread.

If you want to, you can team up with another member of the series to form a team. You needent share skins if you don't want to, just make up a team name and work together. It's about making new friends and teamwork. To work out the score of your team, I just add together the points scores of both the members. i.e the driver's and teams championship are linked.

The independant's championship is a bit more complicated. If you're not in a team, then you're automatically entered for the independant's championship. Basically, it works on the same scoring system as the driver's and team's, however, independant drivers only count for points towards this championship. For example, say you are an independant, and you came 4th in the 1st round, and all the drivers in front of you were in a team. You would get 24 points towards the driver's championship, but 30 towards the independant's championship, as no independants were infront of you. Say, in the same race, a team driver came 5th, and another independant came 6th. That independant driver would recieve 20 points towards the driver's championship, but 28 towards the independants, as he was the second placed independant.

If you still don't understand (I wouldn't blame you!!), I'll explain after Round 1 when i've actually given points out to people.

Hmm...the Independents Championship is abit odd I think...
Why not just leave the players who aren't in a team run for the Drivers Championship only? I just don't see the need for the Independent Championship too...?

J@tko

Why not just leave the players who aren't in a team run for the Drivers Championship only?

That might encourage more people to enter a team. We'll see. W've still got nearly a month anyway.

@ Jack

Can drivers who are already in a team join the Constructors or whatever its called?

You mean that you're in [SR] and you just want to enter in this team championship?

Sure. If there are any more [SR] racers in the series you can race with them, or just make up a team.

This is not about entering the contest with the team you're in.
it's about picking a team mate from those who have entered the contest. it'll only be during the cup.

(if i've got it right... :schwitz:)

So, no team Championship then.

You can still make a team if you like, but there's no competition.

What was that other thing that you suggested we be team TG for?

Was it some sort of short endurance with GTRs?

I forgot lol
