That's fine - any skin will do - as long as its not offensive!

The number next to your name here (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=36304)and the number in brakets here (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=36325)(hopefully the same!) are your race number.
Edit: Is this (base) skin acceptable once i get my numbers etc on? :P
That's fine! BTW, if you can't put the number on either side, put it on front and back.

Do I have to use the same skin throughout the whole series???
Because I've got a really good skin for the XFG and UFR but not one the same for any other cars.

Nope - It can be different for each car. As long as your number's on it, then it's fine.
So I can use my NTCC skin?
Yes, just get rid of the number and replace it with yours then it's fine.
GENERAL POINT: Look at Dalek's NTCC skin - that's the place where I'd like your numbers please. Just a box will do.

Ah - sorry, I forgot that you continentals have , instead of . in numbers.
In English, it means 3 and 5 and 8.
Sorry for confusion!
And there is UF-BR/XF-JR and the XF-JR is much much faster than UF...Or what
The UF-BR is UFR w/ 45%
The XF-JR is XFR w/ 43%.
They are as fast as each other.

If you really cant be bothered to make a good skin, grab a default skin, whack some random colours on it with MS Paint, put your number on it and there you go. :thumb:

"Can't" is a legitimate contraction of cannot.
"cant" is completely out of context here, being the phraseology peculiar to a particular class, party, profession, etc.: the cant of the fashion industry.:D

Can you just clarify this for me please...
After the safety car is in the pits & the Green Flag message appears when exactly is overtaking permitted?
Is it as soon as the Green Flag RCM is displayed?
Is it the moment when the leader crosses the start/finish line?
Or are you allowed to overtake the car infront as soon as it has crossed the line?
It would appear that it is the first one...infact I'm almost positive it is, but I just want to check...

From the rules:
8. When the SC enters the pitlane, Race Control will display a message saying, “Safety Car In Pits” to indicate that it is off the track. At this point, the RCM will change to “GREEN FLAG” and the leader is free to restart. Once the RCM message changes and the leader begins to accelerate, overtaking is permitted. Until then, it is forbidden.
So as soon the leader puts its foot down you are cleared to pass.

Yeah I thought as much. Just checking because what confused me is that I don't how the guys far behind the leader know exactly when he accelerates. Sure they see the green flag but they can't tell when to step on it. Heh, well I can't! :D

Its a bit confusing for the ones at the end of the field and i have never seen a rule like this in real racing
Normally you cleared to pass as soon the leader crosses the start/finsish line. So its absolute clear when to overtake.

Normally you can only pass or be passed once YOU have passed the start finish line...

Marlbro is correct here - the rule in real racing is that overtaking may only take place once YOU have passed the start line. The GREEN FLAG message is only an indicator that racing shall start again when you pass the start line.
If you decide to make the rules concerning this different (say, you may pass as soon as GREEN FLAG is displayed on screen), you must make this absolutely clear, as it is not the usual way of restarting in real life.

Hey guys, I just found your subforum here. Im interested in running some races/hotlaps with you guys.
I have had S2 for about a year but only played it occasionally, I have a few weeks experience with a non FFB steering wheel setup, mostly drifting, but just last week I upgraded to a DFP. Drifting is a lot tougher but now my racing seems to be smoother and more precise, but I still sometimes brake early and late, sometimes take turns too slow, you know, beginner type stuff :D Im not afraid to get out of the way on track if someone is all over me and I always aim to race clean.
Ill look for your server the next time I hop online.

Hello
Yep - Season 2 of the LFSBC will start around October-November time, and we'd love to have you compete with us :thumb:
Before that, around August(ish), we'll be having a Mini-FBM Mini-series, which will be a short series with a 45% restricted FBM around a couple of AX tracks and a couple of the shorter road courses. It will only be a short series, but should be alot of fun.
Hope to see you racing with us soon

As a matter of fact, I'm at this minute writing out the new LFSBC minimum entry requirements. We don't actually have a maximum requirement, it's just that you consider yourself a beginner at racing. FYI, IMO I think that you're too experienced for this League, at over 20,000 miles and Sliver CTRA License.

As I said, we'll have strict minimum (we don't want n00bs :D) and vauge maximum requirements. I mean, if you're 2 secs a lap faster than everyone else then its not going to be much fun :(

You are unbanned now. Reason for your ban was... well Mr. Failure has recently caught people occupying the server for their own purposes.. so you got confused with someone else or summin
hyntty
12th September 2008, 18:24
For the FAQ section( cause it's a Faq thread):
You're welcome to use the ventrilo server, but please do go to the 'NDR Racing team room', (this is because many people simply stay in the main channel, when a race is going on). Of course you're welcome to use the other channels, if you contribute to the intelligent conversation going on. :really:
If you do not have a microphone (which I suggest you should buy:D), do put a 'Beginners cup racer' message (or equivalent) in your comment if you are alone in the channel (=If there's a lot of strange people in the channel). The admins can't knwo who or what you are if you never say anything (and Failure's paranoid about being eavesdropped).
Was that explained confusingly enough?

Okay, thx for that. I wasn't in the NDR Team room. I'll remember the BC racer message, too.

Quite right, it's a general tip for those without one (=microphone). As I said there are people who do scans (?) and sort of steal ventrilo servers... So to not make people think you're one of them...those... whatever :D:really:

Just a few question about Round 7 :
1) What is the track? In one thread I read as5, on an other one I read as4.
2) What about the restrictions? The GT2 aren't an universal class in LFS, so you have to precise it.

A small question regarding Round 7:
How is the pitstop defined? Is it enough if we just enter the pitlane, stop at a pit for 1 second and then continue?
Or are we required to change tyres and/or add fuel?
hyntty
6th October 2008, 12:10
The pitstop isn't defined any further than what lfs consideres as one. Of course a drive thru or stop 'n go won't count as one. So for the lenght there's no restriction - last season I did just that: Just pull in for 1% of fuel, 1sec and go.

It's payback for the Dan Novak ;)
Nah - to be serious: Seeing as the tyres lasted long enough and a pitstop really throws you way back if it takes too long I was curious if it's possible to just put some gas in and be go (and I'll probably also attempt it in the last round - tyres permitting).
