Hi,
I just bought a driving force ex wheel and trying it with lfs old W patch and newest Y one.
Yee finally i drive for fun and not just play but something is not right...
I feel the street i feel the grip and physics but any FF effects are "soft" and my wheel doesn't "vibrate" with some Roughness** of the street (** just translated...)
So the street seems to be at 90% or more of the time perfectly smooth.
any hints for more realistic or, better, more sensibility?
Thanks
Bye
edit:
just drove on rally track :(
It's the same of street track...

The FF on the FFEX isn't very good basically.
Turn it up full whack in the Profiler and in game. :D

maybe but seems that the game don't send the right "impulse"
where i have to turn on "full whack" or something similr?
in profiler i don't anything like that and ingame option i can activate the FF or change the "force"...
edit:
I'm sure that is the game because i just tried to play m3challenge and i feel the grip and track very very well.

ingame under controller settings, there should be something called force, adjust that to your liking.
Remember (in windows) to pull the all force scroller up to 101%, and trow the rest of the force settings to 0. And uncheck the center force spring thing.

In LFS you won't have canned vibration effects translated to the wheel like you would in M3 Challenge or any of the other games. So in that respect, you are right - it is the game. You will only get what forces the steering column receives, that's all.

Right, infact i feel right the steering forces but not all other drive-sensations. (just few)

I tried 0% or 100% of each three force setting and center-force.. is always uncheck :)
But nothing happens, the only setting that seems to work is "global force effects" (in my profiler "forza effetti globale" (italian).
In-game i just can activate the FF or choose the strenght.
Right now i use 120% on global effects, 100% on the rest and 75 of strenght in-game.
i enjoy the fwd cars but not the rest.. :\
maybe it could be fix in next patches?
maybe I have to ask for it?
ps.
OT how to change the country flag over my avatar? :)

What else is there to feel through the steering column?
Although I see where this is leading to - you probably are not getting the canned effects like "engine vibration" or stuff like that which can be found in other games. Consider this a Good Thing. :)

no, i'm not talking about engine vibration or a stone in the tyre...lol
no, I know that every game has his own features, but there are some that have to be in the game. <-- (em, is this english? lol...)
so, right now i'm just comparing lfs to m3challenge and something like tyre-grip feeling is fundamental.
If you go 80mph with a car and immediately you turn or if you go on the grass: you lose grip and steering wheel become light-soft....
In lfs (maybe in my lfs) it never happen.
Few times my wheel vibrate when i go over the "curb" (http://www.csimodel.it/auto/pista/cordolo-terminato.jpg) sometimes not...
Seems that some of "ambient" parts are not considered part of simulation, only the car is simulated right.
Infact when i lose grip with the back of my car, my wheel turn right (I feel very well the car when i drift, for example).
I'm not sure that I'm explaning right, I'm sorry for my bad english. :(
I'm not telling that this game is bad or something like that, I love this game, maybe the developers are developing other important things and the steering wheel will be considered in the future. (i hope).
Right now I'm asking and checking if it's only my fault, a wrong setup, or It's the game. :)
thanks
bye.

I think i allready have that setup, because a tried the game with only Damper effect to 100% and the others to 0% and there is no FF in-game.
The same with only Spring effect to 100%...
Seems that only Overall effects works...
Anyway, what is your wheel ingame setup?
Thanks

Try updating Logitech Profiler. I got my F EX with software dated 2005 or so, it was extremely buggy and the FF sucked. Updated from logitech site and it fet like I got a new wheel
