Screen resolution problems

Is there possibly a way to change the screen resolution outside of the game?
My monitor isn't very good, and goes crazy when 1024x768 is activated (default resolution for LFS) and i can't see a thing, which is annoying.
But the problem is, because i can't see a thing, i can't get to the options menu to change it, i've tried and tried but it's impossible.
Please help me.

try shift + F9 when lfs is running

Edit the cfg.txt in your LFS folder, it should have a line something like this:

Screen Info 0 85 1280 960
Now I'm not sure what the first 0 is for since changing it to 1 didn't have any effect, but 85 is the refresh rate (Hz), and the last two are the resolution (x y).

Make sure if you change the refresh rate that it's something your display can handle.

also...
i wouldnt use 1280x960 if you have trouble with a 1024x768 :faint2:
also, refresh rate might be too high...

try:
Screen Info 0 60 800 600
