my idea its for the future patch Y

when we go out of pit when you appear on the car. you must start the car, as a real car same as if you are on manual and non-auto clutch you have to clutch for start the car if you doesnt do that the car doesnt start :) i think its a good idea. same as when you reset if reset = yes you have to start the car . for more realistic feeling.

that's my idea for the devs corner, and please peoples doesnt goin out of thread thanks :D

I'd prefer to have the ignition be improved first before a suggestion like this is implemented.

nah, then people will forget to turn on the car at the start line and I will drive into them and catistrophic failure will occur.

I don't think he is talking about at the start of the race. It is for everything else though.

Simple solution: Just get in 1st gear without apllying clutch before exiting the pits ^^

Honestly though I don't think that's needed, I guess it would be anoying pretty soon, because it is one additional (yet admittedly short) step you have to take before hitting the street.

i think this would be a good idea however only in the pits to do so :)

Well, based on that Scawen thinks that a handbrake that is always automatically engaged and magically disengaged without an input from the player is a realistic solution :) - I don't think required manual starting procedures is going to be happen soon... if ever.

the car is sittin on level ground when you start in the pits plus some race cars do have this ability while in 1st gear im sure

How many race cars do you know with a handbrake? If a car doesn't have a hand brake it is unlikely to automatically apply one whilst in first gear

no race cars have handbrakes, or very few do but most of them are tiptronic they have a 'automatic parkin brake' or something or other that

Very few racing cars retain a tiptronic system even if the standard car was fitted with one because either a proper H pattern gearbox or true racing sequential are a far more sensible choice for a racing car. The only non-road based semi-automatic gearboxes can be found in F1 cars and they do not have an automatic parking brake. I'd love you to actually find some kind of source for all this nonsense your posting ;)

I agree, I wish they'd put this in but I thought I remember Scawen saying once that he doesn't want LFS to turn into a game where you have to push 35 buttons just to get out of the pits.

its not really a hand brake or brake as such, from what i was told from a guy who works on F1 cars (so it could be all rubbish) but it works like a clutch bite so to speak the formula one car as you slow down and you put it into neutral the clutch comes to a biting point to hold the car level on a hill e.g. if your sittin on an incline it holds the biting point until you make the car move or so he tells me that was at my dads formula one driving day thing
