Obsolete Replay?

just wanted to watch some of my replays i have saved and all the ones i have say obsolute replay and will not play.

i have some great races that i have saved why wont they play?

i guess they are too old but i dont understand why they still should play?

Don't think of them as video recordings as such, LFS replays them using all the physics data (and everything else) that were used when you raced at the time, so when a patch changes the physics, for example, it can't replay the replay the exact same way as before. That's the basic way I understand it anyway.

If you want to play obsolete replays you'll need the same LFS version that was used to create them.

I think, if possible, It'd be really cool if the Devs released a viewer utillity that's compatible with all the recent versions (i know it would be the size of a full game, if not bigger).

Might require a rewrite of tag info for the replay SPR/MPR's but it shouldn't be too much (I think :scratchch )
