First sprint race in RSC history :)

By finishing in the last round 5th i will probably carry on some weight, right? Will i have to carry it in both sprint rounds?
danowat
8th December 2007, 10:49
You carry the weight from round 2 in the first sprint race, and the ballast you get from placing in race 1, you will carry in race 2, and the ballast you get from race 2 you will carry into round 4.

what is the rythm?
qualify -> race 1 -> race 2 ?
every place we finished before, we will start at the next race?
is that correct?

No, read the rules.

I did a couple of laps yesterday and I think FZ5@Fe Gold Rev is a great combo. The FZ5 will propably be ripped to shreds by the RACs, but it's huge fun wrestling that whale of a car.
I'm aiming for mid 1:33 times for the race.

So, will we be using the testpatch for this race? I saw Danowat chose to choose patch X10 for the MRT league.

Looks like I am gonna get next to zero practice for this round, things have just gone mental in the run-up to christmas, that coupled with the fact that my G25 is causing me FPS issues is making life difficult with LFS ATM.
Concerning the patch, unless the FULL patch is released THIS weekend (15th-16th December) will WILL NOT use it, we will continue to use X11.
I think the changes make a fair size difference to the way the FZ and RAC drive, so I would like everyone to at least get the chance to do some practice with the new patch before using it in the RSWC.

is everybody testing the "test-patch" or what's up here? :D

17th December 2007, 08:00
Looks like we'll be using X10 version this Thursday, since X30 was not converted to full blown patch Y over the weekend and if it was released over the next few days it wouldn't give us enough time to practice with the new physics/feel of the cars.
I'm sure we'll be using patch Y for the race after: AS3R

Oh boy, I'm still doing 1:35.xx times, which seems to be 2 seconds off the pace. Hopefully I'll get some time later to practice some more, but I'm not sure where I'm losing so much time. I've looked at Ghost's WR lap, and it just seems that he's a lot smoother in every corner. Maybe I need to don some shades and slick back my hair!

I had my first laps on this combo last night, my first few laps were horrifyingly slow 1:39/40's, such a tricky track in the FZ50 if you get off line to put a quick lap in.
After an hour of practice i was putting in 1:35's, i think this is all i'm going to manage.
Gav was online too putting in early 1:33's in the RAC (and i think maybe a 1:32 here and there)
RAC is going to pwn tonight.

Stupid! I rebuild the system in time nicely, even activated LFS and set up the wheel, but the provided Realtek audio-driver simply doesn't work on this device. Now I'm downloading an update that crawls away at 9kb/s, only 30 minutes left to wait now since I'm already at 50% (that's downloading from Gigabyte, the Realtek server shows an impressive 7.4kb/s). Awesome.
So, who else loves Gigabyte?
Hope you enjoyed the race. I was looking forward to it.

Gigabyte driver-downloads are really shitty. Anyway, hardware is very good quality.
