game crashes at startup

hey for some reason my game keeps crashing to my desktop when i start it up im realy whanting to try this game out my specs are

amd althlon xp 3000+ 2.6 ghz
512 ram
geforce 6800

Try to open the cfg.txt in the main dir and change "Start Windowed 0" to 1.
If that doesn't work, post the deb.log file here.

When do you get the CTD? can you see anything before, like the LFS logo maybe?

Are you sure that LFS is installed correctly, and do all other games work well?

na it doesnt even get to the logo and my other games play fine

any body got a clue i got it so it will start up after i restart my pc then like 10 mins in to game it gives me the error agane...

Well you can set simple car and track, and disable HSV (vertex shaders) in the cardcfg, but I dont think this will help really, because you card has enough ram and supports any of the above.

Doesnt the XP 3000+ run at 2.17 GHz natively? If so, try declocking the CPU to its normal speed. See if it makes a difference.

Yes, if it's overclocked, then that is usually the problem. This is often the case, even when a user says their overclocked computer works fine under all other circumstances. Because LFS is CPU intensive, it will heat up your CPU and test the limit of your overclocking.

I think we need a general "Why does LFS crash to desktop"-faq/thread.
With links to programs and descriptions why most computers dont work 100%rock solid.

Note that some programs can damage your hardware if it gets too hot, so keep a look at the temps and check if all coolers are working.
