Error when Selecting Track [solved]

Just got S2 but not Having Much Luck at all,

Went trough all the Sigh up ETC (philipac)

DL the Latest Avalible and the Patch off the Website,

Stuck in my Name ETC and Made a Skin In Game (Just Yellow and Blue)

Not Changed Any Settings yet,

Went to Change Track and Got One Race then i End it after that and go to change Track,

It then Crashes to Desk Top,

And i Cannot Get Back in to it without Crashing,

It wont get to the Front Screen, (With the Logo)

So i Came hear and Found Patch Q so Fresh Install,

Nooooooooooooo,

The Same Thing after one Race and trying to Change Track,

I have 1 Unlock Left so Please Help me to get it Working Correctly,

Really Loved the 2 Racers i had but it did not Last Long, :(

The patch on the website isn't the latest one - a new one came out an hour ago or so. Here it is:

Holy Crap, thats better than Mine :D Hm simple questions I know, but do you have anything running in the background. Is this Single Player, or playing Online?

If playing Online, can you try this in Single Player Mode, see if you get same result?

Last but no means least, download and install LFS again. Maybe a file is corrupt somewhere.

Personally, never seen this before, but i know strange things happen

P.S When did you get S2, as your still listed as Demo racer. Im not saying you cracked it, as the demo racer title doesnt get updated very quickly.

Hehe this is my Slower Machine,

:)

Its is In Single Player Mode,

Nothing else is Running in the Background,

All Windows Closed just the Anti Virus is Running,

Could DL LFS Again but i Watched Every Second of the DL (Waiting to have ago on S2, :thumbsup:) and it DL Fully,

Could Try DL again but that will use my Last Unlock or could i transfere for the Game now to a New One as i have Used 2 And have 1 Left,

I Logged in as the RSC Login but should of Guess this will work,

I paid for it at 8:38 With Paypal and DL it @ about 8:41 then installed it @ 9:00 then got Patch P2 then it Crash first time then Tried Q Then Came Hear,

Your unlocks get renewed at the end of each month :D. (But you cannot connect to an online game from two different PC's with the same username and password).

Kind of a dumb question, but have you tried rebooting. Did you run LFS again to check if it still happens?

Yes but it Crash before Logo same as Before the Restart,

Do you have any problems with any other games/sims/programs? I can only remember one ocassion when LFS has ever crashed to desktop for me. Try taking off the firewall - disconenct from any networks if you are worried about that (what firewall program is it by the way?). Install LFS freshly again and see if the same thing happens when you change the track configs in demo. Check the log file, located in [LFS Folder]\deb.txt. Post it on the forums if you can (from both the old install and the new one).

No other Problems and Got a Huge Amount of Games on hear,

Or Programs,

AVG 7.1 AV and a Wirless Network with Firewall built in,

What do you Mean about track Configs in Demo?

Comparing your deb.txt to mine, everything is fine until you get to Aston. The after that you have the following missing

Seems like vehichle loading. But it stops at the track load so I'm guessing it conflicts with your video car or something... you say you had no problem running Blackwood on the first run?

The First track i Ran was not Black Wood but a Diffrent one,

Cannot Remmber if it was Aston i Changed to after or had that First,

the First Track has a Tight First Courner into a Right then Left then to a Downhill Right Left then Right and Up to the Start if i Remmber Correctly then the Next Track never Loaded it Crashed then,

The Car as a FWD one with a Wing on the Back FX0?

I Copeyed to Above Info in and Got back into the Game,

The Car is the FX0 Turbo,

That Track is Aston Cadet, Low Wind,Race 3 Laps No Qual Bright Clear,

Yes my PC Crashed so everything is upto date as i have Only Just Finshed before getting LFS,

I can Change Tracks Now Aswell but have Not Testeding one Yet,

Yes,

It Runs But I can Load Any 2 Track then it goes Back to Crashing,

Will try again but Load the Race this time,

Edit - It Crashes When Loading Textures before all the Game Intro and Logo

Edit 2 - C&P wont Work now it still Crashes at Loading Textures,

Don't paste my deb in - that's just a log. Nothing LFS looks at when it is run, it just writes everything it does to it. I'll take a look at the cfg file to see what settings it has and what you can change to get it to run.

Going to Try a Full Fresh Install into a New Folder not anything Near to other LFS and try that,

Victor Recommend it and as he Said about Drivers but everything is Uptodate,

Still having this Problem,

I have Got Some New Faster Memory to no Affect,

Took my SB Live out to no Affect, (Still lever Out Using Onboard Sound)

It just Randomly Crashes what ever Settings i run it on,

Some Time it will go back in sometime have to delete the CFG File to get Past the Loding Textures bit when the Game Starts,

It Seams to Happen on other Games now aswell and on just Genral use of the PC,

I Cannot Figure it out,

Mem Tested the New Memory and its Working Fine,

Everything that i dont use aint on the PC and it Either Blue Screens with "Page Fault in nonpaged Area" (Something like That) Blue Screens with Nothing just Blue and Seams to be at 800x600 not 1024x768 or it Crashes to Desktop,

The Only thing i have Changed from last time i Posted is Putting New Memory in (Still 1GB) Took my SB Live Out, and Now Running Dual Monitors,

STOP errors, aka BSOD, that indicate "Page Fault in nonpaged Area" usually means that theres something wrong with the RAM. It is possible that memtest doesnt pick up these problems, although thats unlikely.

Out of interest is your processor clocked at all? My 64 3200 is very very touchy over certain speeds...

Edit: I've had a thought, just to test, try disabling the L1 or L2 cache via the BIOS, and see if that gets any better. If it does then the onboard cache on the processor is probably screwed - try and see if you can return it.

2) memory failures (but you seem to rule that one out)
3) bad / too low powered PSU


I'd try to look into #3 first, so what PSU do you have? At 300W or lower it's critical, everything above should do fine, but it's different from PSU to PSU depending on how stable they can hold the voltage output. Some might even fail at 350W rating but you'll never know before you buy (I have a 350W and it runs fine, pretty similar system, just a 6600GT). I think the PSU is an often overlooked problem source.

If you can rule that out too, well try running it with an open case, maybe your cooling is insufficient? But then again, why should it happen on track load - that has nothing to do with cooling, so I rather think it's #3. As soon as you load the tracks (memory shuffling & HD activity) the PSU gives in and the memory produces an error, atleast that would by my best guess. :shrug:

Both the New and Old Memory where there and both still make no Diffence to the Erorr but the New stuff is Running faster,

CPU Not Overclocked and has a Heatsink and Fan over it with 2 Fans About Not 2 Far awat and Another in the Side of the Case, When i had my Display on my Case it was Never Getting hot, and Now (Well Quite along time Ago, Half a Year Atleast) i Stuck a bigger Fan in i had Spare so should be Cooler now,

I have a 350W Supply, But Could Check this out,

Edit - The Only Games on ATM are Generally - Either Crashes to Desktop or Blue Screens but with No message, CMR05, CTDT or Blue Screen with the message, GTASA, This is a Funny one, Sometimes it works Perfect,Some Times it CTDT some times it BS so its a Mix for that,

And When Not trying a Game its just Radom,Listing to Music,On the Net,Looking at Pics on my HD, Just Pure Random.

I got it Working i got it Working,

New PS @ 450W (Really 425.5W though)

New GC (Although its alot Cheaper then the ATI that was in it works about as well)

Must Say i have Tested all tracks and Cars now,

And LFS S2 is AWSOME,

I wish i would of got it along time Before now instead of just the Demo never bought S1 When that was Out but wish i did,

FWIW, I once had a similar string of problems with an Athlon (older, like a 1.6ghz) and it had never been overclocked and had been running the appropriate OEM cooler since day one. Tried swapping EVERYTHING and the problem persisted, replaced the processor and my problems disappeared.
