Hello everybody
I hope U will understand this letter : I'm french :thumb:
I'm turning on the blackwood track for several weeks, alone and on the net. My best lap ever is around 1.26.06 but my average is 1.28/1.29.
Is it really possible to do 1.24 or less with the demo version?
I've recorded some races of "Celcius" or "Gaston" or others, and "my" Xrt seems to be less powered : I drive quite well and clean, but the accelerations are very slowers than them :schwitz:.
They run about 230 km/h and over, when I only get a hard 220!
Partial times show it :
first : 29 for me, 28 for them
2nd : 1'01/02, 58 or 59 for them
1'28 but 1'24 for the "gooods"!!
What's the secret?
Give "S2" the possibilty of upgrading the cars? Tuning the motor and the suspensions?
Wathever, I'll do some runs tonight : LFS, even in demo, is a so real good game, euh, simulation!
Thank You all.

Demo and S2 are exactly the same regarding car specs and physics :thumb:

More likely earlier acceleration...
@Tof: There is no upgrading or tuning involved in LfS... Everyone has the same engine, the same chassis... It's only your talent/skill and maybe the setup you drive that makes the difference...

I guess they don't take the chicane too cleanly either, same with the later right left and other places, personally i dislike that sort of driving, and would love to see tirestacks or more solid objects really close to the curbstones/run off in such places, (same for a lot of corners on Fern bay, and other tracks) or more fragile suspension.
I love LFS, but being able to cut and get away with it makes me avoid especially Fern bay online. (it's a great track otherwise) Wanting to drive the car like I would in real life (ie. not break it) means losing seconds there for that reason alone. (i have other reasons for the other seconds i lose :really:)

I think it is one, or both, of the following possibilites.
1. They get on the pedal quicker while exiting a turn. Just work on your exit strategy and you'll improve your times.
2. They cut corners as the previous poster mentioned. Not much you can do about this without "cheating", which is what it is, in my opinion. I would never drive a racecar onto the grass, and I hate seeing people do this in LFS.

The OP is talking strictly about Blackwood. I don't think the talk about cutting fits here. Where at Blackwood to you see cutting? I never see cutting on BL1. Occasionally, you will see someone blast through the tire barrier before the 2nd split, but that doesn't net you anything, surely not the 4-5 seconds the OP talks about.
Without a replay from the OP, all everything said is speculation. I would speculate that the OP has quite an understeering setup, thus very slow corner speed netting in very slow exit speed. The drivers running that fast times on BL1/XRT use overly oversteery setups to where they don't steer with the wheel at all. Steering is done all with the throttle, which is a way I can not drive, thus which is why I couldn't beat a 1:26-27 at BL1/XRT either.

Tof-gt, you might wanna read a bit from this article (link below) in LFS Manual and check out begginers section of this forum.
Good luck with getting your times down :thumb:

That guy probably meant exit curb of the chicane at 1st sector. Allthough it might look like "cutting" but if 2 wheels are still on the tarmac it isn't classified as cutting. I don't like it much myself tbh but if you want to go fast you'll have to use the track and the car to its limits:shrug:
