I know it's a bit early, but hey :)

Done a few laps, and it's not an easy track, couple of the corners are pretty tough in the FZ, especially the last turn and it's VERY late apex.

It's gonna be a tough start to the season :)

I think I have slotted into the FZ really well, considering I was an RAC driver for RSSC2, and I have only used the FZ for drifting. It is a very stable car compared to the RAC though. I am having fun testing with my Team-mates, and it is good to get down to the hard-core temprement of testing itself. :)

The FZ is an AWESOME car, maybe even the best car in LFS period, the way the FFB shows the sheer wieght of the thing is brilliant, I love the way you have to drive it slowly to drive it fast, suits me very well!!!!

Got a 3:16.11 while going horrible wide on the grass in the last corner. Very nice combo - don't know about the RAC, but FZ5 is fun to drive here.

I reckon big gains can be made in T3, it's a very strange line to take to get it right, and also the last corner, you have to take an odd line in the FZ5 to get a good run onto the straight.

I just turn in quite late for T3, you just need to make sure you gonna get the speed to carry up to the corner before the loose chicane as I call it, the Feax Rouge, if you will :D.

As for the final corner, I get the nose in early, brake in a straightline to the outside of the corner, and then when that Black Electric Pylon is visible in teh background, you know you can start to power on and bring the nose to the inside, you will also know where you are in teh corner, because there is a patch of concrete on the inside of the corner, just at the apex

Depends, it's a long race, so even "lowly" laptimes could get a look in, I would say aim for 3:15 for a half decent race pace, although the "cream" will probably be lapping very close to the WR, bloody aliens.........

Hehe, I was just wondering why the FZ50 sounds a bit off when I'm getting back on throttle. Then I noticed that I might have a small problem with my throttle pedal potentiometer. I did a simple test and a graph is included. The red line is what my foot was doing and the other line shows what the throttle potentiometer was doing. :D

The sad thing is that I may have to give up on my dream to see my pedals surviving from WW3; teh nukular world war. The wheel, MS non-FF, is going strong though :tilt:

I've read some article in the past about changing potentiometers. I don't think it's too difficult. I think it would be worth investigating as they don't cost much to replace.

Assuming this problem would have less of an effect for the braking, the alternatives would be:

1. swap potentiometers between brake and accelerator, or
2. swap brake axis to right pedal, and accelerator to left pedal, then drive cross-legged :D

Nah, it is really no biggie. I'll probably just try to clean the pot or just drive with it until it dies. The jittering just makes the car feel a bit nervous but when I floor the throttle it stays at 100% so there is not much speed lost. Nothing to worry about, even if there ever was ;)

ermm.... mine has a mind of its own , it has never worked with 900 degrees on pc , only gt4 , and i accedently kicked it as i left it were i shouldent ov and it re-did its routine check and stayed on 900 , witch was bad , but ive got it back to normal now 90-90 but when i go left it makes a really bad noise but after warming it up its ok ,,, ish no deggre problems for me atm :schwitz: im bored ov typing now .

doesnt the wheel of DFP have a digital convertor thing like the black momo instead of a pot? (like the wheels in a mouse). If it does not a lot can go wrong, only some dust in between the IR sensors or on the small wheel with all the small cut outs.
I've done roughly 120k with my red momo, still feels like new, I guess you need a G25 to get that kind of performance.

I have noticed that people have VERY different braking points and lines for some corners, and that is going to make for some fun overtaking I think.

On a good note, I finally broke the 3:15 barrier with a 3:14.68, I reckon 3:13 is VERY possible with a nice clean lap :)
