A nice race for me in grid#2. Started around 12th, then had a crash with Hut on lap1 I think and I dropped to 30th. Then in a way I won't understand unless the BOTT officials provide us with a race progress graph (hint) I got to around 5th place, and after a few pitstops from guys in front I became the leader :tilt:Obviously I had to pit too, and eventually finished 4th
Also, sorry to Hut for the bump in lap1, but I don't think I could have avoided that.
I have the replay from server2, hopefully with everybody having had finished before I saved it :schwitz:

Ahh well, it destroyed my race, it was all a bit lagy so let it be...
Anyways, i want to say some thing about the BoTT races, ive been racing in some races and im not entirly positive...
Point 1
Chatting during the qualify and race, this is totally NOT DONE... IMO talkers should get some penalties ASAP, this problem keeps returning every race, its just soooo annoying, tbh it cost me my qualifying, i finally had a good lap and suddenly peeps start talking aarghhh...
Point 2
Thanks to a shunt, lets say a little race accident ive ended up last, with loads of time between me and the next one, although i kept on pushiing and pushing i ended up 8th... Not bad imo, but there are some riders, which IMO dont belong in this series, with all the respect, but ive seen some actions which belong on a DEMO server, a teamm8 of mine on server 1 got crashed thanks to a backmarker....
IMO the BoTT series are getting a bad name due to all this crashing etc... Ok were with 30 cars on the track, but sensible guys will handle that, ive seen loads of cars upside down and crashing into eachother in lap 1, its a bit ridicules...
Server 1 mainly has the top drivers of LFS, some i think these things happen mostly on server 2 and 3.
Maybe an idea for next year to make a 107% rule of the fastest time, ive seen someone drive a PB with a 1.39 time...
Anyways, ive had a good race, ive pushed back into the points, but im not that happy with this race series, its popular but i cant say its the most enjoyable atm... i hope things will improve.
Greetings...

Almost a great race. Start last(Courtesy of my shitty ISP),get upto 5th,pit,back in the middle, overtake like mad, get to 9th(or was it 10th),try overtaking again, brain fade, hit the guy you were overtaking, wait for the guy you nudged out to give him his position back, brainfade, finnish 11th. :x:tilt:

Dunno if there even was third server?

There was a 3rd Qualifying server, but due to the fact that there were only 65 people who turned up, that meant 32+32+1 so that person won server 3 by default.
Pecker should have the qual replay, but obviously no race one.

Had a terrible race in #1. Started 30th - few guys crashed and of course i had to hit them - 10 fps at start didn't help either.
my set was very slow on straight and that was one of the worst thing to experience - all cars getting bigger in mirrors.....:/
Had some issues with BrianS - he's lag kicked me to the sand trap once - one issue with celtic100 when i tried to pass him and i think it's about it. I finished 23rd god know how only.
Little boring but few nice fights with mr de welle if i remember correctly.
I wonder what happend to Mooney as he finished 22nd :)

And why is that?
I know it is stupid to race for 50 laps on your own but what if the guy got disconnected? DNF... no points...

If I would know that I have to drive 90 minutes alone (90 min time attack) I wouldn't even starting.

I cant believe it really needs answering, but how about... because it'd be stupid.
1) why force the driver to sit and drive 50 meaningless laps for the sake of about 64pts i think it would be. The guy wanted to drive, we tried to fit him into server #2 which i was adminning so that at least he was taking part, however nobody vanished so the server was full, infact i had to kick him at one point because he was hogging the place of someone that disconnected right at the end of sorting out the race line-up, then i had to ban him (it was lag-lap, but didnt want the discussion going on into the actual race start) cos despite being told there was no room he kept going on about where he was racing when he'd already been told he didnt need to as there was nobody else to race against, take the pts and watch some tv or something.
2) As an admin of the series, i can tell you it aint exactly all fun and games watching over a race that doesnt really mean an awful lot to us, its not exactly meant to i understand that, but were donating our time for the pleasure of others, and im not making someone sit in a server waiting for 1 person to finish their 50 laps for nobody!
Additionally, there was a shortage of admins for this round (what new!) and the Server #1 admin was actually racing, I was in #2, and Pecker was in #3 and it was considered slightly more important that someone was in server #1 rather than wasting their time in #3 making sure nothing happened to him.
It wont be the first time something like this happens, too many teams think it'll be fun taking part but dont realise whats involved and cant put in the commitment needed, its the same with every series, theres always plenty of people thinking how great it'd be and how they can do it, and then round by round people disappear, a couple with the decency to actually inform the organisers. Fortunately the system actually works pretty well with this, the folk in the lowest server lose out a little i guess, but if the series had fixed teams for the whole series, you'd probably notice that its not the quicker teams that arent competing, its those with no real league history, no true team commitment and such that probably would have been in the 3rd server, and that'd only encourage the other teams to quit if only half the teams were still taking part.
Personally i think a new rule needs to be introduced, that if there are less than 8 people in a server, then the race is abandoned and points are awarded by their qualifying order, or possibly only half distance is run. Its not fair on the drivers i know, but a line needs to be drawn as to what is and isnt acceptable as a 'race', and whether its worthwhile making those people (+admin) do it.

Don't forget to unban him before next round, or he may be in for a nice surprise

I hope things will improve a bit, dunno why, the admins do their best, but im not enjoying these series a little bit...
Its just, there are so much small things that are so freaking annoying, id been questioning myself if i will be participating in the next series...

Hadnt thought of that but isnt the default for a ban just 3 days long anyway?
It'd be 14 days till the next meeting, and he's only banned from server 2, but yeah i see what you mean.
/ban X Y :ban user X for Y days (0 = 12 hours)
That suggests he'd be free to join the server now, eitherway just to be safe i've just gone in and /unban overlordkv so he should be off there eitherway :)

Yes i understand where you are coming from. There are some people out their who have the impression that it is a sprint race and they can win the race on the first corner/lap. The only way these drivers stupidity can be dealt with is via the Tribunal.
Once they receive a penalties for reckless driving, im sure they will think twice about doing it again however i think Server 1 is alot better. althought after round 5... :schwitz::scratchch
