Had a quick look and couldn't see anything about this in here...
I think there should be an option to turn off 'minor damage' fixing in the pits... i was racing lastnight and was hit from behind by someone. The damaged caused didn't effect the handling of my car at all but it took forever to fix in the pits.

As I've said before, I think this 'bug' should only be fixed when the damage DOES cause funny handling/lack of grip/retirements. As it is, you can still beatr WR's with a mashed up cars, so the only incentive anyone has to NOT push people off the track (and this doesn't really apply to you nikimere as you were an innocent hitee) is the time spent in pitstops.
I know the vast majority don't agree with me, but we've got to have some feature (or bug) to encourage clean racing.
Can't wait for diffuser damage to REALLY effect handling. And for formula car suspensions to be wrecked by very small contact :D

Were you forced to pit for fuel or race conditions? I would agree that like in Nascar games, you should be able to choose not to repair damage on pit entry if all you want is a splash and dash.

And the F08 low speed friction is not right. Let's put TCS into it and when the "bug" is fixed let's take it off. :pillepall And you can drive fast laps in real life with some bad looking hits. I saw once in F1 car that spun and hit the wall sideways, looked pretty tough. No damage.
If something is broken but has no effect on anything - why fix it? To punish someone for making an error?
And, LFS S2 is not finished, like the damage model or the pitting isn't too.
Again: :)

Kind of ties in with my real request. An AI that doesn't consider high speed ramming to be acceptable, or a system that punishes accidents.
It's really frustrating to come into a corner, brake a bit early, and have 3 or 4 cars in quick succession slam into you with no negative effects. If this is a simulation, those cars should be out of the race. Might encourage the wreckers, but then again, they'd only get one car

Guys, complaining about the damage is beating a dead horse. Yes, we all know it's not finished. Actually the "only" damage type Scawen implemented is suspension bending. Not specifically to discourage wrecking, but to discourage wall riding (South City anyone?).
Also, we should be very happy to have the visual vertex damage in, a feature that was originally planned to be in S3.
