The time resets if you enter the pit to make setup changes, meaning you have to remember what your best was before to compare setup changes. Maybe an option that remember your last 10 laps so you could check speed, tail off and consistency would be nice also :)
On the subject of the speedo, it seems to read vehicle speed no matter what direction its pointing or how fast the wheels turn. In a real car the speedo is picked up from the gear box generally, so iof you wheel spin or lock up the speed shows (average of the driving?) wheel(s) speed.
