Hi,

Im currently having only 1 (one) LFS S2 0.5P2 Dedicated server running. If I want 2 or more on the same psysical hardware, how do I do this. I've tried numerous things, but they all end up with "Warning : another instance of LFS is running" message, when starting up an extra instance. My server has 3 "outside" IP addresses. I even tried running the instances on their own IP Address, but same problem. I tried copying the LFS server dir to 3 seperate folder (having 3 installed instances of it) and running each instance from it's own directory, but same problem.

Is there a workaround for this or is it not possible to have more than one LFS server running ?

ps. I've tried searching the forums in anyway I could, but didn't find any questions nor answers that could help me. So any help is appriciated.

It should work fine as long as every instance uses different TCP/UDP ports. I have several LFS directories, one per LFS instance and all use their own port. Works fine. The message "Warning : another instance of LFS is running" is normal and should be ignored unless there is crashed LFS host running in the background.

Hi,

i have the same Problem.

Tried differnt Ports. All Server start but only the first started is available in the Server Browser.

I have only one IP on my dedicated Root.

Any hints?

are you certain you are changing the correct port and not just the insim?

when the server starts does the window that comes up say "socket:Bind failed" or anything simular.. if it does then you have not changed the port correctly.

Yes i'm certain. I changed the Game Port and the Insim port.

The Server runs under Linux maybe that's the Point? That's also the reason why i can't read the Server Messages.

Do the servers need to have different Names?

I wanted to run a Demo and a S2 Server. Both the same Name.

I try with different Names, perhaps thats a point.

Yes it needs to have different Server Names.

Stupid me.
