Do the Devs ever race?

I just realized that i've never ever seen a Dev racing in lfs online, do they go under different names or somthing? Has any one seen a dev racing before?

Yeah they race, but normally under fake names. I mean, if Scawen connection (scawen), or Victor Connected (victor), do you think anyone would race, or just bombard them with questions...

As it is they can create and delete accounts at will, so they hide behind them.

What really interests me, is do they use little clues, perhaps on their skins, or on their number plate that might give the observents a chance of working out who it is?...

After all these years, don't you think somebody would of spotted it? Anyway, yes they do race, but on Private Hidden Beta Servers :D

I think developers haven't purchased licenses, so they race only on demo servers under fake names :D

My guess is that the devs have so much fun playing GTR and GTLegends that they don't have time for LfS...

in theory they should know the game, cars and tracks better than anybody.

we could challenge them to a race to find out!

Back before we had the S2 alpha release, someone joined the demo server I was racing with the name "Scawen". I was like "Hehe, yea, sure." "Hey look, it's Scawen!" I changed my nick to "Victor" and said, "See, anyone can change their nick, hahaha" figuring someone was joking around. Who ever it was raced a few laps, then announced that they were releasing S2 as alpha soon. "Haha, yea, right." The next morning, the announcement was made on RSC and the website that S2 was being released! I didn't see anything that night after I left the servers, so I'm proud to say that I think I got to run a few laps with Scawen :thumb: .

You could always look up Scawen's races history if you really want to know how often he's been online "as himself".

I can't see how Scawen could ever race under his own name. He'd never get a decent race, it'd be like the "Moses effect" as the pack parts in front of him, with everyone paranoid not to wreck the man himself. ;)

The LFS gents can make a new account on the fly. If they used accounts like Victor, Eric or Scawen, they wouldnt be able to race because their screen'd be full of "When will S2 be out!" "Please make the XRT more powerfull!" "I want the LX8 GTR!"
They race anonymously, wich is understandable.

He tested a new patch and we had 1 or 2 races in the GT, but then it turned into a chatting session. I'm sure It was scawen, 10 minutes after he closed the server the patch was online for download. Surely one of my better LFS moments :goodvibes

I've only seen him once as himself and I believe it was then. I remember racing XR GT around FE Club reverse... I was a little laggy (more like very laggy) as I was on 56k in a euro server, but apparantly that was a good thing for the testing reasons. Most the time I spectated when there was a lot of players... I do remember beating him in a couple of races when my lag was minimal :razz:

And we were more into driving with the karts that day :D
