Well if you test drove the person's car from the opposite seating position, then that wouldn't be a test drive would it? Because... the seating position does affect the cars performance, so it could make a difference in laptimes (some say). :)

Oh and driving on either sides of the car is easy to get used to, just try it more and more and it won't bug you. I drive from left or right all the time, it's not that hard ;).
