So, what's different in this new version? Apart from a new looking "editor" and the ability to add a reason for editing.
Oh and those buttons for Bold, Smilies, etc. now don't work at all... :x

Errr, dunno where to get that, but that's from Help > About
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
E: I also tried disabling all extensions, no change. JavaScript is activated in the options.
E2: In IE it works. Holy crap you can edit your post on the fly there LOL

the only thing I can suggest atm is to try to really reload the forum with a ctrl-f5. Maybe some javascript is cached. Other than that I wouldn't know why it wouldn't work over there.

the ability to add a reason for editing. That's been there for ages... or at least, it has for me o_O

Firefox 1.0.7 here, can't use quick reply or post attachments or use any of the fancy buttons in the editor. :(

and yep, as to answer your question to what is new ;
-several big and small improvements to the interface
-security fixes
-code optimisations
that's it in a nutshell :) But posting features are quite nice, for example the inline edit feature you experienced and a quickreply is posted pretty quick too (doesn't have to reload the whole page)
Should be a better experience in general.

Ok, ^ this works. Seems like FF caches the javascripts and was using an old version all the time.

Mostly works in Firefox 1.5RC1, but I think the remaining bugs are gecko related, as they occur in one of our webapps too.

Is it just me, or did they just add the emoticons along the right side? Maybe those were always there and I'm just blind.
Edit: Wow, this new editing function is pretty darn cool
Edit: Using Firefox 1.0.7

Yeah I like it, seems to all gel together okay. My quick reply is working, I'm using Firefox 1.0.7. For those with whom it's not working I would seriously recommend Ctrl + F5. Works wonders! :)

It is even cooler if you are a mod or admin, loads of handy controls, but ehhh we wouldn't need to worry bout those features :)

Hmmm... Mozz 1.7
CTRL+F5, when I edit, I get the edit page, then send, it wipes out my text and say I need more than one character to post, I add characters, then send, it brings me to a new 'reply' window.

quick reply and (quick) edit not working here - (different machine to before) - Firefox 1.0.7 How queer is that? I have one working and one not, with not many differences... I'm confused... In fact none of the smilies buttons etc work in the edit window either.... everything was fine on my other machine.... And Ive just noticed I have no carriage returns....

Just do what has been suggested many times before. Hit CTRL + F5.
This clears & refreshes the cache of this page, which apparently also contains all the javascripts that make this page run. If you had the old version of the forums running once on your other machine, then its jscripts were saved and still used when actually the new ones were needed.

hmmm sry but i still hate vb for the way it handles cookies and marks read/unread threads
and apparently the new version has made those problems even worse
