Low FPS?

Hi guys!

When there are a lot of cars in my screen (Starts mostly +/- 15 cars) I've got a very very bad FPS.. It's 20/15 or something.. But my PC is fast enough (I think)

I run LFS on:
p4 2.8Ghz
XFX 6600GT
1,5 GB pc3200 ram
Coolermaster 450W PSU
ForceWare 81.85

Does this seem strange or is it a bit of a normal FPS?
And does anyone know how to solve it?

What resolution? Do you have good FPS when you're alone on a track?

As fas as I know there is just heavy FPS drop on any computer because there's just so much physics going on. Try reducing view distance settings.

I'm not sure how to solve it, but that seems very low. I have an Athlon 2000, 512mb DDR400 and a Radeon 9600 128mb (O/C to about a Pro), and rarely does my frame rate drop below 30-40 (all the visual bits are on, with 2x AA).

I run at 1600 x 1200 but it doesnt make any difference if I run at 1024 x 768 or something like that
