Default View

Hi,
When I start LFS and go into a race for the first time my view alwayes seems to revert back to just the wheels however I always set it to body? Is there something I'm missing to that it will always remain on Body.

BTW - what view do you guys use and what is your field of view?

Mine always starts in the driver's view, I thought this is the default.

Go to Options > View and select "In car" as default driver view right at the top. I'm using 68° fov, but that's a matter of preference. Higher fov will give you a greater sense of speed, but at the same time you're also more likely to misjudge a corner's radius. Most people seem to be using something between 70° and 90°. :)

I have chosen custom and played around a bit with some of the settings. It would seem that "Custom" is specific to each car because previous cars I had selected now seem to keep the settings however if I choose "In Car" it seems to carry through to all the cars.

i'm not sure if this is what you mean but...i have noticed that while racing in different cars, the field of view changes slightly. THe actualy FOV degree stays the same (90), but for example, if i hop into the gtr cars, it seems that i am farther back in the seat that in the xrt, fxo, lx6, fox or any other car. This only seems to happen in the GTR cars. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? It is actually more difficult for me to drive the GTR cars like this so instead, i use the wheel view.

Each car has its own custom view (or 5 of them if you use FlipCams (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=25674)). So what you see is expected.

The setting to use either the cockpit view or the custom view by default is common to all the cars, though.
