cant unlock

hey guys, first post on here
i recently purchased a licence and am having trouble unlocking the game
i enter my details and and click ok, takes a few seconds then says is unable to connect to master server.
what should i do?

Check Firewall is not blocking LFS and that LFS has full internet access.

If you are still using an older version of the game, get the latest from www.liveforspeed.net.

The master server moved a little while back, stopping older versions from connecting to it.

how do i check if i have the latest version?

when u startup the game it will tell u what version ur running at the bottom of the screen.
make sure u have at least W installed and it should work without problems.

all it says is LFS S2 Alpha 0.5P
does that tell me what version i have?

Yes,It tells you that you have 0.5P version and thats the issue.
With this one you cant connect to master server which managed the unlocking.

Download the latest version here:

Install and try to unclock again.It should work.

You have 0.5P, which is most likely the cause of not being able to hit the master server.

I suggest you download the latest version (0.5W) of LFS from the main site, and copy any skins/setups across from your existing installation.

ok, i've done that, now i'm getting this error message when i try and start the game

every time I start my LFS i got my license status lost - it's shown as demo-racer. so every time i ought to enter login & pass and get it back to S2 licensed status. today, when I was entering it again, master server told me that "no more unlocks during this week". in my account details i read that i have no available unlocks till Friday morning. i dunno why every time i need to refill login & pass forms, re-authorize on server, but I'll get really bored if I can do it only once a week on Friday morning. can smb help me? what can I do?

If you're using the hibernate mode of your PC, restart it first, then unlock. Hibernate seems to break the unlock check from time to time. Should it happen that your LFS install gets locked again, try restarting first - if hibernate was again the cause, it should be unlocked afterwards again.

Did you extract all of the files to the LFS folder? Try extracting them again. Make sure you replace all files it asks to.

when i extract the files i get a little window with a list of about 1400 items and at the end of the description for each file it says 'file is broken'

I still have problems unlocking my S2. My game is currently up to date (x10 version) but I still have this problem - every 2nd time I launch the game I become a demo-user. I can unlock it again once a week and then I must wait till next week. It's making me so maaaad, I love this game, I've played it everyday in demo and I want to play more when I have S2 - but there is a very very big problem. I reinstalled my LFS 3 times or so, and I tried another OS - it's always the same. P.S. I don't use hibernate mode on my pc.

I'm confused , i own all licences and have reinstalled the latest version in again and it wont let me log in. its the same login as my Forum one right? :really:

No, it's a different password. To unlock the game you need the GAMEpassword. If you have forgotten it, log in at LFS main page and you can change your GAMEpassword there with your WEBpassword.

Are you using the hibernation mode of your PC? If that is the case, you need to do a reboot without hibernation, and only THEN unlock LFS. After you've done this, LFS shouldn't lock any more, and if it does a simple reboot fixes it.

I never use hibernate mode. btw I suppose the game locks when I exit it with Alt+F4, or killing process in task manager (sometimes it's easier). This is only my suggestion :-\

Is your <LFS>/data/misc folder read only? If so, set it to writeable.
Actually, set your whole LFS folder to be writeable, as having it to read only could also cause several other problems.
