1) Installed Drivers?
2) Plugged it in?
3) Checked it's listed in Control Panel>Game Controllers?
4) If yes to all above, then have you set it up in game?
If not, check HERE (http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Options#Setting_up_the_wheel)

try to go to "axes" in controller setup in game, then click the "calibration lock" off. BTW, setting the gas/brake to combined axes on the right analog works beautifuly. Go to misc and set "smooth steer" to 72 btw... and the turn ratio to 90 deg... leave all else alone.

I'm using an xbox 360 controller. I find the steering extremely twitchy. Is there any way to improve this? Also, the right and left analogue triggers are set to a combined axis in windows. Is there anyway I can change this? I wish to have separate axis for throttle / brake.

Still is twitchy as hell. Guess there is no replacement for a wheel.

I appreciate your help guys. I should have mentioned that I have already tried the settings mentioned by others. I apologise.
Even after trying analogue steer smooth, and changing turn ratio to 90 degrees, it remains twitchy. As there are really no other options, I assume that racing with a controller is a lost cause.
I also assume that it is impossible to force the combined axis of the two trigger controls on the 360 controller to be two seperate independent axes? This would also really make driving a lot better.

:) hi Plastik8; in short the general feedback on people using either the XboX or the 360 controller is not good. You have just pointed out why. Read the last paragraph pf this (http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=254023#post254023)
