I thought i would put forward my ideas for next season of BOTT
and see what you think.
Season starts: July/August
Time: 20:00 or 21:00 UTC
It all depends on the number of team that join but..
Premiere Division (All the teams from last season will be invite back and all the team who were invited last time and unable to make it) - 16 teams
Division 1
Divison 2
If we were to have divisions then possibly 6 rounds
Round 1: Fern bay Club - UF1
Round 2: South City long - XFR
Round 3: Aston Cadet - TBO
Round 4: Aston ??? - GTR
Round 5: Fern Bay Gold or ??? - FOX
Round 6: Kyoto Ring National - FO8
Ruling/penalties
There will be a Tribunal which consists of 2-3 members of LFS with a good understanding of racing.
If a complaint is made it will be reviewed by the tribunal judges and they will come to a conclusion on the penalty
Comments, criticism, suggestions welcome
:)

I personally would like to see some variety on the choosen combos.
Some xfi+xrg action would be nice also, on a track where they are competetive.
For the starting time I must suggest 20.00 UTC, as 21 would already be midnight for Finns in the summer time.
I´m sure Mercury will show intrest in the upcoming season. :thumb:

Aston National with GTRs :shy: 50laps would not be a boring thing, I think there would be action all 50 laps there!
The LRF at BL1 Rev if I remember was great fun!!

Also maybe fe rallyx with RB4?

I enjoyed fe gold fox but possible go for some more unusual combos. Maybe something like fox at as north gtr's at fe or something, just mixed up a bit or maybe if want gtr's at aston go for something different than national.
As for when to run the league, those on summer holidays benifit from summer as they have nothing to do but the risk is run of teams having members going on holiday. So IMO would be best to run it later in year, round september time.

Yup, bad time. October or later will be better. Last Sunday in October we're off summertime, meaning it will be just UTC+1 or +2 for most here in Europe.

Had to be done, you chose a combo that your team has hotlapped the shit out of then complain because someone else wants a combo they have done?
How about some variety, Kyoto Gp Long reversed or National reversed for the XFR and UFR, fern bay anything except the club for the xfg and xrg, same with the uf1.
It's really way to boring doing the same combos or the same kind of combos, like Uf1 Fe club, maybe something differnt? Sprint 1 reversed, 2 reversed? Even green reversed, the track doesn't have to be small to have good racing for small cars.
Would just like to see something differnt, like F08 club reversed or something, or maybe even cadet, might sound silly but atleast you will be offering combos that arn't very common.

Personally, I haven't been driving the BL1/XFG combo at all for over 6 months. So I guess I'm just as fast/slow as most people there now. :D
Anyhow, that combo isn't the most exciting imo, so whether it's chosen or not doesn't bother me.

I think now we won't need divisions, patch X is out soon (32 cars and maybe more ).
Round 2: SO City long can be XFR + UFR
We had Aston Cadet - TBO last season, maybe now try whit Aston Club Rev, that combo is just so fun, S backwards is so hard to get right so only best would be fast! And I agree whit XFG+XRG race :) (dunno what track, Blackwood is old school )
Westhill Grand Prix for GTR, nice track for GTRs :smileypul
Oh and what you guys think about one Formula 1 race. All leagues whit mix cars never drive BF1, why? It would be super fun to have BF1 combo for end of season.
July/August is maybe bad time, cuz ppl are at seaside :tilt:, but you need 2 drivers and I can bet there will be someone from team who can race! This is team champ not drivers!
EDIT: lol bawbag you are so full of rev combos in your post :D (AS club Rev in mine, dudes try that combo it's just fun!)
EDIT2: SO classic REV, one of the best tracks in LFS! Organisers hit some car there ;)
P.S AS Club REV, SO classic REV think about it :D This two tracks are not long, they have passing places and they are big challenge, just what we need
EDIT3: I've just looked at Hot Lapps, Aston Club Rev whit XFG+XRG looks good (1:22.380 - 1:22.280), so then hit TBO on SO classic REV :) btw. WRs on SO1R are not really important cuz we will have TBO class weight penalties...

Round 2 should be South City Long REV... far better for the XFR cars.
But, you need to have more rounds. At least 8.
Do a round (or more) with a certain car at the following tracks:
-BL GP Rev (always a good one for racing) (LRF?)
-AS North Rev (GTRs?)
-KY National Rev (better overtaking opportunities) (FO8)
-SO Town Rev (a VERY good track for racing with the highspeed downhill braking for the hairpin) (XFG, XRG)
It is no coincidence that the REV tracks are my top recommendations. Reverse directions give some great racing, and prove others in the race that you can be prepared if you practice it. If you don't do reverse combos, it is just same old same old, and that just shows you'd be too noob to want to try anything else :p.
AS Club is by far the worst of all choices Niki.

I mean on REV combo :schwitz:

I just think you should do it in the exact oposite of tracks from last season. Say we done XFR So long, now stay away from So long and go to Fern Bay or Kyoto, atleast it's not going to be similar track conditions to the first race.

XFG is way to fast here (2 sec.)
I mean on REV combo :schwitz:
Then choose XFG OR XRG :)
And AS Club is a bad combo all around, normal or reverse. It just isn't very interesting and well made. Too short and not many corners. You guys should stick to tracks that are NOT popular tracks online (eg AS Club, AS Nat).
But oh well, you all want to decide.

Yes, that's an idea I like very much. If it misses OWRL then I'm sure R4R could raise a team to race. We would like to compete with all the great teams in this series.

I hope you've taken some lessons from the shortcomings of the first season and will be building on the good qualities when making season 2.
I'd like to see some variety in the combos. Take some combos that are still fun such as MRT @ so classic or as cadet. I also think the BF1 should be used at a suitable track such as historic. Or you can take a well known overused lfs combo and reverse it to mix it up.

I would strongly suggest:
- Set up a decent organization and a clear set of rules, then decide what kind of tracks, number of teams etc, number of rounds etc this league will consist off.
What last season clearly proved is that the organization was a chaos. A few observations:
- change of rules during the season
- unclear how points were dealt out
- admins not showing up
- lack of rules, or clarity how to interpet the rules
Change all that first before you even consider starting a second season.

- There was no rules to begin with, because i thought it would be all common sense but obviously it wasnt and we are not living in a perfect world
- points were dealth out as
1st - 40pts
2nd - 38pts
3rd - 36pts
4th - 34pts
- I was unable to show up for 1 round and arco was sick, i asked paulc2k if he could cover for me if i was away.
- and yes we need to fix the loop holes in the rules
It was our first major League we had hosted. So this season all those problems you have in first season will be fixed for this season :thumb:

What time would this be? (For the Euro's :) )
The only problem I would have with that is that if it's bang in the midle of my day (Say 2pm) Then many people wouldn't be able to go out early and come back later on at night. So really it's ruining a day as you're not gunna go out just to come back and play on your pc. :nerd:

Im all for restarting things in October, give everyone a break, spend some time coming up with some solid rules and get things nailed down tighter so theres less confusion and everything is black and white instead of having grey areas.
One rule i'd love to see banished is the allowance of people disconnecting, going and watching a bit of TV, bite to eat and take a dump and then right at the end deciding to abuse a rule allowing people to rejoin if they lost connection to the server in order to take points they're not entitled to/worthy of. Anyway, thats for another thread.

We don't want that many rally!!! Two is way more then enough.
I dont mind 10am UTC if it makes it easier for others too.

South City Sprint 2 - MRT
Aston History - TBO
South City Town/Long/Reverse - FOX
Kyoto Ring Long - XFR/UFR
Westhill International - Fo8
Fern Bay Black - GTR
Blackwood GP/Reverse - LRF

My suggestion would be to drop the sled off, or at least change of track, since sprint2 is nothing but an alleyway, not even a close to a circle to have a race on, nevermind a track.
And I´d suggest lx4 to be driven on WE reversed too, not driven there too much but everytime I had the chance it felt like right next to eating candy. :tilt:
South City Sprint 2 Rev - MRT
Although this is my favourite combo, it's hard to have a league race here, since it got no pits, and the grid is limited to 16 cars.
But SO1(r)/MRT is a great combo too :)

OK to make Arrow's life harder, here are my choices :D:
BL1 - GTRs
Bl1R - LRF
SO Sprint 1 - TBOs
AS Cadet - MRT
Kyoto Ring National - XFG/XRG
Westhill International - FOX
SO Classic - UFR/XFR
Kyoto Ring Long - BF1
And then for the last round something slightly special, the D1 teams race FE Green Reverse in UFR/XFR while the D2 race XFG/XRG. Now would'nt that be fun :D... But I do like the idea of a special last race with both D's racing in different class of car on the same track!

Silly 12 hour clock system. :tilt: I have no idea why some english speaking countries still hold on to that system. Thank god we're not using Thai 6 hour clock system! That said, 11 UTC is the same as 12 noon BST, or 11am GMT.

Presumably you will be oversubscribed. What happens in that case? Will there be a preseason? Will there be two divisions?

Way to steal arrow's avatar idea keith :D
(not spam)
I really doubt there are enough teams for 2 divisions over the season, go for one division, do a pre-qualification by hotlap and put the rest on the waiting list if they want. If the team really cares about the event, then they will wait for their chance to enter BOTT. But thats just my opinion and how i would do that.
@Duck: Hehe, one of our mates saw your avatar and said "I WANT THIS" :D
Take it as a compliment for your idea and your work!

There are some really fast South American, Baltic, Spanish and French teams which may be worth inviting? What about the Aussie teams too? Maybe if there were a lot of teams participating, there could be regional divisions (Australasia, Europe, North America) and then some kind of finals at the end to make racing times easier for everyone?
It would be nice to have all the best teams participating, at the moment it's only really the english speaking teams registered.

i can let the aussie teams know :thumb:
The regional divisions (something like A1 GP of LFS) is a good idea but it wouldnt work for most teams example fusion has European and Australian drivers.

Discussing?? :razz::D
I've already put us down as being in, post #6 or there abouts.
As ive said a few times, provided theres competition then were happy to compete, Thunder provided that for a few races last time round and havent been seen since, but having Cyber there should make things interesting. I think last time round it suffered because we seemed to be the only team putting in consistant results, others would be quick for a few rounds but then have a bad race or 2 and lose ground, we were lucky to only have 1 bad round (because our drivers werent able to race) and i think with the new additions it should be much tighter and fewer occasions where teams have both their drivers in the top 6.
