After the release of patch W I rediscovered LFS all over again. Great stuff. The tracks seem much more detailed since I 'left LFS' over a year ago, or maybe it's just in my mind. Furthermore the default 'race' setups seem much better, but maybe that's me imagine things as well? Only real gripe I have at the moment are flashing textures on some tracks. I'm using Vista and the latest ATI drivers (7.3) on a X1900XT. 4xAA and 4xAF. Does anybody have this as well or is it just me? Any suggestions for improvement?

With you gc you should always use 16xAF, maybe this could reduce some flickering and will give you much more sharper textures. Check the gcīs temperature. If you have overclocked reset.

thx for the suggestions but it didn't make any difference. For instance when I start at south bay I see a flashing texture on the building on the far right (office building). The same with other buildings around this track.

OK, letīs try another approach. Download a hires texture update:

For South City: http://hosted.filefront.com/EKar/ (itīs the swop.zip file from the list).

the rest: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=20033

Maybe another driver could be the solution, the newest oneīs arenīt always the best! What about a tweaked driver from this site (works fine for my nvidia):
