2 April, evening.
Servers will be set to private whilst new features are rolled out and stability tested. Some or all servers may be emptied of competitors during this time in order to expediate the deployment of new features.

Adding feature: New custom userbars.

Servers back up and running. The new feature has been post poned as a hardware upgrade is required on the server, so it will wait until the new server goes live and then we'll move the manager software over to that.

Becky, the Silver&Gold server was extremely laggy tonight, also there were stutters all the time, are you aware of any specific issues with the servers?

Yes. The UKCT Server appears to be having some sort of head fit. Somebody (from the outside) opened 31 FTP streams to it - not sure what that's about yet. A UKCT admin opened up a large .rar file on the server which apparently is BAAAAAAD for every other process running on the server, and I gather some Battlefield 2 thing is being run on it tonight - although i'm not sure that's causing problems in any way.

The UKCT guys are trying to undo all the different problems atm, i'm not sure I have all the info, but it sounds like a bit of a catalogue of errors to me :)

ok, thx for the clearup :) I was afraid the stutters were only at my end, but if this was the case the server was clearly overloaded. Also we kept getting the message that you have to look out when rejoining the race, because traffic is approaching, etc. I first thought this was something of the new features because I made an offense, but it didn't appear after splits, just randomly, so it must have been another hiccup with the server, or the software in this case.

I gather the server is OK again now.
