cant make a pit stop

i only have the demo version of the game but so do some of myfriends and thay can make pit stops, when i pit in keeping to the speed limit i stop in the yellow box and nothing happans when my friends make a stop it works fine any ideas cos my times are good but i keep getting disqualified for not pitting! aahhhhhhhhhhh

try to stop dead inside the lines. Use the outside view, as i sometimes have this problem,

I have exactly the same problem. I even asked a friend to try to pitstop on my computer and he also failed while it works for him on his computer. What version of LFS do you play? I have the lastest patch P2 installed. Maybe it is buggy? Please inform me if you find out anything about this issue.

iv tried to un-zip the game and patch again but this has made no difference i will try to make a stop using the outside view thanks for that sugestion if i find anything else out i will be sure to post it here.

Umm, cos Scawen/Eric didn't 'activate' them I guess. Just try a pitbox in the middle...

iv tried almost all the pit boxes i know im stopping in the right place cos i was on line with my team last night and they all made stops ok and i tried the same box as thay had and still nothing

A bit more work should narrow it down to a more specific problem, and then we can talk solutions.

Record an MPR/SPR of you trying to pit and we'll immediately tell if you're doing something obviously wrong.

im doing it correctly trust i have tried on line other racers have watched and no one can figure it out. i will try to re install the game but most importantly will this still be an issue when i buy the full game cos if so i wont bother but i really like it so please help :thumb:

Probably not, but it's hard to say as we don't know why you can't pit. Can you post an mpr/spr as mentioned above? Then we can help! (don't make it tooooooo long ;))

nah u can stop in all of em :) in the first or last that doesnt really matter ;)
and u dont need S2 for pit stops :D
i also was able to make pit stops in the demo :) (yes it was the demo with the actual physics and stuff :D)

tried to un-install the game and then re install it but this hasnt fixed the problem, something else ive noticed is that when the game first loads up it shows a replay of the white rear wheel drive car going round the track this does not happen for me just as it goes to pull off the line it freezes, is there an un-install option for this game or is a case of deleating each file at a time?

just delete the whole LFS folder and all LFS files are gone :)
btw the little vid on the startup u can deactivate that in the options ;)

OK, here is a multiplayer record from me (please notice that I'm not the one who started the thread). (Yes I know that it was a very bad race :))

Player to watch: TNF Thorsten.
First try to pitstop at the end of the first round.
Multiple tries at end of the round five.

One round later I pushed chris to the box because his fule was empty but that didn't help him, any idea why? Again I couldn't pitstop.

At the end of the race I was disqualified because of "pit"

The only thing I can think of is if you have 40% fuel, and have asked the pits to put in enough so that you leave with 20% (random figures, but the former must be higher than the latter). Does this cause the pitstop bug? Perhaps it's worth double checking that you are going to leave the pits with more than you entered.

AFAIR I started with 13% fuel and asked to get it refilled to 40%.
Is this forum read by the developers or do we need to fill a bug report?

The devs do watch this forum, and reply quite frequently (VERY frequently compared to devs of other games). I except they have watched the replay, and any 'bugs' are being inspected at the moment. There is a patch due this weekend, which may contain a few fixes. This MIGHT be one of them (but it might have to wait for the next patch or two, depending on how serious Scawen rates it).

Scawen wrote it on the forum (mainly to due with other languages, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few bug fixes in there too. Due either Friday or Saturday. Look at Scawens last dozen posts and you'll be sure to find it ;)

FWIW, I pit asking for 5% fuel all the time (when I have say, 30% left or something). This is so I don't get refuelled when I just come in for a flat or something. Just wanted to comment on that.

Hmmm, so you can still pit with less fuel after, it just ignores the fuelling bit...

im actualy glad someone else is having this problem, what system are you running it on? iv tried un-installing and re-installing but it hasnt helped so dont bother with that i just cant work out why that is the only part of the game that dont work every thing else is fine

I had the problem with the introduction-Video too!

I had LfS installed and added the patch P2. In game the right version of LfS was displayed, but i added the patch to an older version of LfS and not the current one.

After installing the right version with the patch the introduction-Video worked fine.

goto SHIFT F12 - goto tyre change, and set to -always, and then try. Maybe its on 100% wear? :D

I justed patched my version to Q but it was still broken. So I reinstalled the whole game (version Q) and now I have an intro and I can do pitstops. :shrug:
