KYOTO 360 Lap Event SUNDAY 25th of FEBRUARY
the last race of season 1 of the LFSCAR "360degree.tk cup" will be a 360 lap event in the middle of february. we will run it with as close as possible nascar rules and will contain the next seasons ruleset (without the new car)
everyone is invited to join that race (you also can team up with a teammate or buddy in one car). it is necessary to qualify, which will be held on raceday one hour before the race.
the race will be on a sunday 25th.
Qualifying 16.30 CET (1 outlap 2 fastlaps) + 11 lap sprint race with flying start (this is to make sure everyone understands the pacecar rules)
Race starts at 17.15 CET according to the result of the sprint race
At the start, the pacecar will start from the back and overtake everyone.
DON'T MOVE UNTIL YOU GET THE "ROLLING START" Msg.
Pacecar rules (you will get visual commands for that as well)
When pacecar comes out, no overtaking what so ever!!! (FULL COURSE YELLOW)
pacecar trys to catch the leader. NO overtaking of the pacecar! pacecar will tell you if you are allowed to overtake!
when all gaps are closed to single file, all cars which are not in the lead lap go to inner file (double file)
race will be restarted when you get the GREEN command after next time you pass start/finish line. the leading cars have to maintain the pacecar speed until the finish line. pacecar speed is about 120km/h. NO gaps or brakechecks behind the pacecar.
pit rules under pacecar:
first pits are open ONLY for crashed cars
when pacecar catchs the leader, pits are open to everyone
a pacecar phase will last for about 5 laps and will wait for file up everyone!
DO YOU HAVE THE GUTS FOR 360 FREAKING LAPS?
ARE YOU MAN ENOUGH TO STAND IT?
CHICKEN????

Ugh, 60 laps of Westhill on Saturday then 360 laps of Kyoto on Sunday. :shy:
I might not be able to make this but if I do then Captain Slow will be my co-driver. He drove part of the first race but quit the series after that.
It'll be the second unveiling of my new team I guess :tilt:

Fischfix
15th February 2007, 00:07
Qualifying 16.30 CET (1 outlap 2 fastlaps) + 11 lap sprint race with flying start (this is to make sure everyone understands the pacecar rules)
Race starts at 17.15 CET according to the result of the sprint race
plz read my posts :)
yankman
15th February 2007, 08:47
So the results from first qualify are thrown away ?
Fischfix
15th February 2007, 12:22
i have 3 possibilities:
1. everyone has to qualify again in the new format => will take the most time
2. only the new people have to qualify with the new system but are rowed behind the others for the sprint race => fairest to the overall championship
3. i take the first three laps from the already qualified => might not be the fairest because of fuel.
anyway everyone has to be on the server and on ventrillo for the whole qualifying because the sprint race will be held immediately after the qualifying. (we will do a regrid then to make sure pacecar is in front and all others are in the right order.
after the sprint race there will be a 5min. brake and re grid procedure. (i have to regrid because i need to switch the lap amount, the pacecar will also start in front of the grid, which is good)

james12s
23rd February 2007, 16:42
i thought you had to sorry
Leifde
23rd February 2007, 17:38
But you are allowed to change if you want. I would recommend it, I drove in the 180 lap race and that seemed very long.
yankman
23rd February 2007, 18:45
Longest race in the series was the hairpin race which took over 2.5 h.
My right arm started to hurt after 2 hours as well as my back.
Even if going round the oval is easier than that hairpin track,
it'll be a good idea to have a second driver.
racer hero
23rd February 2007, 19:05
I know but I have been working out and taringing for this race since I signed up....I feel like I can do it!
KSheppard
23rd February 2007, 19:24
hi me and my dad would like to race but we use on pc....
My dad & I have done the same thing in the past...a word of advice, test it out, make sure your controler can handle the length. We found that as the controler got hot near the end of a 3hr race around westhill we only got 3/4 pedal which kinda of killed out top end :D
racer hero
23rd February 2007, 19:49
yeh I think my mouse will handle it.
Fischfix
24th February 2007, 00:28
ok, i have another team who is sitting in front of one pc, i recomended to them that they switch drivers as the others do in the pits. allthough i can't supervise what they are really doing in front of their monitor. however it would be fair to the others imo.
Fischfix
25th February 2007, 11:51
the server will be called something like [FM]360° Event, plz search for it. The password is given out in Ventrillo before the quallifying.

Very long race. You CR boys need to learn how to race properly before next time. Instead of riding my bumper (litterally) all the way around the safety car laps. I did a quick picture of the scene at the end. Its on there below.

26th February 2007, 13:46
Yeah, thanks for all the fish ;).
Even if there were many newbies and kids in the race, it was a funny event.
I enjoyed the converation in ventrilo, so it was not to boring at all.
Again sorry for being a bit rough towards racer hero, when he crashed me.
I posted a few pics and the replay on our team site (german language):
