Hi all, i've been throughly enjoying playing the live for speed s2 demo, but i was wondering if anyone could help me with the following problem that i am having. I am playing the game with a Sony PS2 control pad, using a usb adaptor. When i played toca race driver 2 you could adjust the deadzone on the analogue sticks so that the car didn't twitch with every movement. In live for speed, the car responds to even the slightest twitch or movement on the sticks, and this often results in me losing control of the car.

If anyone could help me out i would be greatly appreciative

Hmmm I don't know if this applies for Joypads, but you should try DxTweak2 and you can edit the raw settings of the controller in Windows. Edit deadzones, and all kinds of stuff.

See it here: http://www.wingmanteam.com/latest_software/gadgets.htm

Once you edit the deadzone for the joypad's axis, it will be saved globably, or in other words it will be the same for all games on your computer.

Well i've made some progress and then again i've made none. That tweak program was great, and it really allows you to modify the sensitivity of the pad, but i did all this and saved it. But in live for speed the sticks are still as sensitive as ever. I saved the config and everything, should i be doing something to run it ? It says in the readme file not to leave the tweak program running in the background, so do i have to do anything to activate the modified profile, or just leave it.

Many Thanks

Well, I have tried a gamepad many times when I am traveling (have a laptop) and I have to say that a gamepad in LFS is terrible. Matter of fact, it is probably worse than keyboard in my opinion... and keyboarding is said to be the worst too :o.

You should really try using the mouse or a different kind of controller. There are many mouse drivers out there that can be very fast (even World Record holders), it just takes some practice.

But if you want the best control, use a Wheel & Pedals or a Joystick. A gamepad is just too sensitive for this game -- and the only way to make it less-worse is to goto the MISC options in the game and crank up the Analog Steer Smoothing. If that doesn't help, I can't say what else would help with the high sensitivity .
